Weird mana cascade followed by "no connection to server"

I do not know if this was coincidence:
My opponent started to combine 5 gems - after that gems did fall down to combine further - until it ended.
In the same turn he then combined 5 gems  - after that gems did fall down to combine further - until it ended.
In the same turn he then combined 5 gems  - after that gems did fall down to combine further - until it ended.
In the same turn he then combined 5 gems  - after that gems did fall down to combine further - until it ended.
In the same turn he then combined 5 gems  - after that gems did fall down to combine further - 
At that point I canceled the match - I am not the patient type of player.

After that I healed my PW and tried to start next match - it then reported it can not connect to the server.
After 10 retries (I am not patient but I can be persistent) I also canceled that match.

So I do not know if the weird mana cascade has something to do with a connection to a server?!

It got even better when I tried to heal my PW after the second cancellation it did not heal - but the counter for the healing was decremented....
at least the next match started and everything seems to work ok now.
