Instant win or nothing?

I'm just curious because there is new (at least to me) popular almost infinite loop combo going that uses spells that fetch spells that fetch spells. It's a epileptic seizure inducing madness to watch and truthfully a clever deck combo. But it's like if the match doesn't end in a few rounds then we can't have fun or something. I like a drawn out chess match with the AI a whole lot more than for example, Hazoret plus Deploy  = game over this round or the next. Against player decks the strategy is a lot more fun to me.

If I was playing PvE with the 300+ hit point stupid opponents they've created then maybe it's preferable to use some of these combos. I guess especially when the free rewards are at stake and you want to make sure you make the next tier.

This new combo almost always takes me from full health to dead and seems like it takes like 1-2 mins before it doles out it's damage and finishes me off. It's annoying in that I can't stop it. It's annoying in that I lose a match. It's annoying because I don't have the cards to do it myself even though I'm not sure how often I would. But it's also just sort of a fun sucker. Luck and some specific cards = you win because you figured out how to exploit shoddily thought out game mechanics and somehow that is satisfying?

Anyway, is now all about instant win? It that really fun?

I'm naming the cards involved because I'm tired of seeing it but I'm sure it's no secret anyway.

I think you are talking about the O. That's the part of the game: win the safest possible way. Winning fast is a safe way.

Sure you can make some specaisl decks, but there are no special rewards for creative deck ideas. Only rewards for winning as much as possible.

But everybody is free to play his own way.

There are more than one combos. Which one are you talking about?

And to answer your question. Yes. Most of the time people want to get over with their games as quickly as possible. Specially when it comes to the daily events like TG, AX and TotP.

Imagine you're playing chess. But you're playing against an MMA fighter. And everytime you move a piece, he punches you in the head. Your options are to move another piece or get up and fight.

Unfortunately you're not playing against like minded people who want to have an interesting game. They want to come in and beat face with HUF/Whir/Omniscience and the like. Gotta build your decks with that in mind. Thank god for Standard.

That's not really fair.  Not everyone has the time or patience to spend 45 min casting 13 zombies every match.

I know I gave up and just ran my busted old Zombie deck instead this time (ironically, that's the deck that did really well for me the first time the event was run, back when tokens counted).  I just can't spend an entire day stalling and call it fun.

In cases like this don't blame the players, blame the devs.

That's basically chess boxing, although you alternate between fighting and chess there every three minutes

You're right. Lord knows I really didn't put forth the effort for the Halloween event.

There was definitely a lack of awareness when designing certian cards but I think even if you set those aside speed will always be advantageous in this game. I don't really think we need to place blame. It is what it is.
