I am thinking of giving up my VIP membership due to PVE reasons.

Placing in the top 5 or top 10 of PVE is very competitive. The difference between 1st place and 5th place can sometimes be just a few points.   I have to time my clears of the nodes to account for the extra mini prizes I gather due to the VIP membership (or other monthly purchases). Too many prizes have actually costs me placements, because of the extra couple of seconds lost collecting prizes, that were needed to clear a node.  Now I do like the prizes and the VIP membership, but at the same time, I don't like losing placements because of it.   So can the dev team give an option to turn off the prize animations?

    IMO, that would be treating the symptoms, not the cause. Just like the option to disable animations was. The underlying problem is that the placement mechanic is stupid or broken and has to be reworked.
