Color vs Color Identity

Now with two runs of Zendikar vs Eldrazi beta under our belts, I think it's a good time to bring this up again.

Please adjust the way cards with devoid are addressed by the game. Devoid creatures are meant to be considered colorless despite having colored mana requirements to cast them. The mechanic really needs to be addressed in order to be cohesive and have synergy for the eldrazi of that block. So here's what I believe we need to have addressed:

Have the game consider creatures with devoid to be colorless while retaining the color bars underneath restricting which eldrazi can appear together in which decks. Right now the eldrazi lack cohesion with themselves because cards meant to support the tribe currently actively do not do so.

Examples of this include:
Molten Nursery
Ruination Guide
Nettle Drone
Reaver Drone
Herald of Kozilek
Flayer Drone

Additionally many eldrazi that have colors aren't considered devoid, and don't gain any mana from devoid gems on the field. This should be added to those cards, as well as cards that don't have a color, but did have colorless casting requirements should also charge from devoid gems (also can we get them to get more bonus than 3 mana?)

Examples of cards that could have the devoid mechanic are:
Reality Smasher
Reaver Drone
Smothering Abomination
Walker of the Wastes
Matter Reshaper

Good call! This is something that used to confuse me as well

Easy solution would be what they already did with some of the new Eldrazi cards.  Make all of them say "colorless or devoid" instead of just "colorless"

Its not a perfect fix, but would probably be much easier to do and would work the same way

While I would agree, in theory. Kaladesh cards were intentionally designed to work with Oath of the Gatewatch cards. Many Kaladesh cards reference colorless, look at Restoration Specialist for example, or a more recent card, Infernal Reckoning.

These should all work with devoid cards, but don’t as it currently stands, and I think it would be easier to simply adjust the BFZ block cards than have to reference devoid on every card that mentions colorless going forward.
