River's Rebuke not affecting land elementals [Fixed in 3.0]

As stated, I cast a River's Rebuke with forest elementals on the board and it didn't affect them at all. RR states "creatures and non-land supoorts"

Granted, flavorwise, I can see it not affecting them, but the card wording doesn't reflect what is happening.

River's Rebuke is too powerful as is and instead of stopping this they should change it to:

"non-token creatures and non-land supports" so it has _some_ downside like most other board wipes.

Failing to see how this is a bug.

It's not a bug, but there are multiple ways to fix the bug you pointed out. Making it stick bluntly to the current text and bounce the land elementals is only one option, there are others, so I'm making a suggestion about a possible fix to the text that would make what is currently happening not a bug and nicely balance the card at the same time.

Seems like the cause is in the use of the key "non-land" which makes it target everything that does not have the tag Land.  The Forest elementals are specifically named land elementals en probably have the tag Land in their meta descriptors. Hence they are not affected by rivers rebuke, the trigger for rivers rebuke probably does not check on the card type ( creature, support, spell, token creature, token support)

Sounds about right.  I would assume the same.  Its still definitely a bug based on how the card is worded, although I guess you can argue that a literal interpretation of how paper works means it is not a bug.

Hi everyone, the team is aware of this issue preventing River's Rebuke from affecting Land type creatures. I'll go ahead and add this to the bug list for reference.

Personally I thought it was kind of a cool feature.  Paper Magic is full of little quirks, I don't see the harm in this one.

I agree it should work like this in theory, but not based on wording.  If it is an intended effect, the card should be changed to reflect that.
