Is "Greg" Changing his Strategies AGAIN?

Can anyone else confirm or deny how "Greg" (the AI opponent) has suddenly changed how they use loyalty abilities since the 2.9 update?

As of the update... I have noticed on multiple occasions where playing against Koth, "Greg" would sometimes NOT use his 1st ability and instead focus on getting the support from Koth's 3rd ability, while in Training Grounds.  Please note that there were NO supports or effects used that would block the use of PW abilities in any way, shape, or form.  I have also noticed some different ability usage from other PWs piloted by "Greg" (ie. Elspeth's 2nd being used with no creatures out, various 1st abilities from multiple PWs not being spammed non-stop, etc.).

Did something change that I'm missing in the patch notes, or is this "Greg" adapting to us?

    There has been a noticeable change in Greg after the update.

    For some reason, these changes are very rarely put in the patch notes or any advance notice.  Not sure why.

    But Greg definitely seems to be saving up for higher loyalty abilities with some intent now, instead of just spamming whatever was available.

    I welcome this change, especially against Bolas - Greg might forget I have creatures on my side!

    It's nice of Bolas to not kill my creatures right away.

    Not nice (but fun!) of Teferi to cast his ult.

    I'm loving it. Not only are they spamming. But greg has got a bit more strategy with this update. Koth won't spam his 1st but wait for either his 3rd if he has a red match and creatures out. Or use his 2nd to kill anything that I brought out to control the board.

    I agree I enjoy the extra challenge.
    I just wish we would stop being surprised by these changes.  I mean, its not like its some minor thing we won't notice.

    I’ve had several Koth matches in coalition events since 2.8 where he races to his ult.

    I don't know, seems worse. Had a koth skip an L match black, for a 3 match black....that caused a red match due to gem dropping from off screen....

    I've noticed this behavious since 2.8 as well and a good thing it is. If we can't play each other directly let's at least face an AI that does more than just play the cards it has available with no more variation then the draw order :-D

    They didn't say anything because they didn't change anything.

    Greg has gotten smarter and he wants revenge.

    Although I did just witness Greg hold off on using the Glory desert card 4 times after the 2x damage kicked in to kill itself.

    He didn't look for this in the past (he couldn't: gems weren't generated until after a match was made and the board needed filling ["needs filled" for you Pennsylvanians out there]). I doubt they'd change that, but anything's possible.

    They have changed for sure the way Greg uses the plansewalkers abilities.

    Nicol 1 now waits with his first ability loaded one or two turns to use it even if he has loaded the second ability.

    Teferi is now able to use his third.

    Liliana 1 is also using her second instead of always her first.

    Not always is for better, as I do not understand why Nicol 1 has been waiting 3 turns to kill my only creature, but they have changed and is good to see it playing different as you got used to.

    I like the new AI.  I actually had an opposing card-draw Tef use his third ability against me.  Fun to see.

    I've notice Ob has a brain again and casts his third...

    Not knowing when a 3rd will be cast has brought some needed spice.
