No update?

@Brigby unless I converted the time wrong the Duel Decks event is supposed to start in about an hour.

There is still no sign of the update in the Android App Store, and traditionally it takes a couple hours longer for updates to make it to the Apple Store.  This means the update will probably not go live in time for the start of the event.

Is there some delay we should know about?  Or is it just taking unusually long for the update to propagate?
And will the Duel Decks Event (and whatever other events are planned for after 2.9 goes up) be postponed in some way as a result?

That’s great! I guess we won’t have events either until the update. There was no real reason to not have events in the first place. It’s fun to have a game you can’t play.

The discovered issue with the update was unfortunately unable to be anticipated, and by the time the decision was made to delay it, scheduling new events for today was no longer possible.

At the same time, we understand that players are frustrated by the lack of events, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience during this time.

It stinks not to have events today, but this game has gotten so much better since the new developers took over.

I have played since the beginning, and, in the old days, they would have pushed a tinykitty update through and let us suffer through freezes and bugs.

I am thankful for the caution. The events will be back tomorrow.

Is there anything preventing giving us an event right now? How about AWR?

I'm with Grizzo on that one, why not put up an event like AWR so people don't have to wait till Friday for the next event.

Each individual event is tested before-hand on a separate QA server, prior to going onto a live server. While it's technically possible to schedule an event at a (relatively) moment's notice, given there is someone awake to schedule it in the first place, at that point that would essentially mean crossing our fingers and hoping nothing goes wrong.

That's why we'd likely be hesitant to spontaneously schedule a new event to go live the day of.

This is done even if the event had already been run with the existing code base? Can I ask why? If AWR didn't have any issues, and we haven't had any update to the backend or the client software, why would you test, AGAIN?

I dunno, think of how often events and cards that were working perfectly well suddenly stop working?  I would be surprised if they didn't check everything before release with their track record.
