OMG absolutely sick of old event with new cards. The interactions are broken and aiming for the objectives is pointless these days.
Had enough been playing for years and this is still one of the most frustrating things.

SUMMON 2 or less creatures....and u get a Nicol Bolas p.s....or a combo deck.

When you play the summon two or less node you need to use cards that FETCH a creature. Vivien's Invocation or Dubious Challenge. The other option is to use cards that put out creatures without summoning. Summon means to fill a creature card with mana and cast from your hand. Fetch, Awaken, Stored Mana effects, etc do not count.

It's very easy to do for Green and even more with a dual walker. Make tokens, reanimate etc. You probably do need a healthy dose of mythics to make it easier (Sandwurm, Thopter Spy Network), use cards to steal (like Bolas Clutches), creatures that return from gy, Journey to Eternity or use the rares Grizzo mentioned.

It's Scraphead Scrounger node! Play one, gather the pack, profit. Riddleform is extra fun.
    If you don't have him..
Enbalm creatures, gather the pack, profit.
    Garruk.

There are enough ways to make it work!

Regardless of that you get paired against broken multi creature decks and you can have two...summon or noy. You still gotta get the cards to get another summoned and not cast..... It was a node and event built aronud BFZ.....now its being left as it was with everything up to M19......

I've never had a problem with summon 2 or less creature objective. As said above plenty of ways around it thanks to tokens, res, fetch etc.

Sometimes your creatures die, breh. They died 2 years ago and they still die today. There are a million ways around this. Try something different .

With 250 player brackets, I don’t care too much. I don’t see anyone in my bracket with a perfect score. And with no set restriction, it makes sense. My point, is that it at least adds flavor to the event. No one running a perfect score means that the events are harder. But it also means others are having to face my OP Legacy decks. I can live with that.

Do none of you play paper as well?

Your all happy there is no rotation and older set merge with new ones in old events?

Playing vs Nicol Bolas in old events is just backward with the lore.

I do play paper. Lore is pure flavor to me.  I love that MTGPQ is able to mix up cards from various sets ... just like paper. ;)

I'm not sure what your issue is here.  We get like 1 legacy event per month, and its a great way to break out the ol' infinite combo decks we all miss playing.

The only really difficult objective is the "lose 10 or less life" one because of legacy's love of dealing 12 damage in 1 shot.  But even that node isn't impossible to do most of the time.

And yes, I play paper as well.  But since I don't like spending a ton of money I almost never run standard decks anyway (and its not like I'm competing much anyway, so whatever)

I think this is more an issue in not understanding how the objective actually works since we are NOT taught that in game.

As was said earlier by Grizzo:
    """
When you play the summon two or less node you need to use cards that FETCH a creature. Vivien's Invocation or Dubious Challenge. The other option is to use cards that put out creatures without summoning. Summon means to fill a creature card with mana and cast from your hand. Fetch, Awaken, Stored Mana effects, etc do not count.
    """

Any way of playing a creature apart from casting from hand doesn't break the objective. Even after saying this the Original poster doesn't understand it because it seems they need practical in game examples and training for it to make sense.
There needs to be a "Training" section in story for events and how the requirements work.

Apparently the OP doesn't play AI either, since the 3rd node has the "Summon 2 or less creatures" objective...But I hear him on the "Lose 2 or less creatures" objective and getting a NB or Ob to play against... :/

Oh, and I'm not trying to shame the OP, I'm trying to shame the fact that this STILL isn't taught in game even though it's critical.

Make it part of the "Kiora" training there is already a shell for since she has many options for tokens including her Octopodians.
