Unable to exit sliding card screen during deck creation [Investigating]

I have been experiencing this bug since day one. This week it happened so many times that this needs some investigating.
Today this happened during a round of AI. However, this bug has happened in training grounds and during events of all sorts.

I am serious when I say that this bug has been in the game since I started playing the game years ago.

A walk through of the issue.
  1. Click on Across Ixalan node (can happen on any event)
  2. Choose Planeswalker
  3. Scroll left/right until I find one I want to play
  4. Choose Huatli (as an example, can literally be any PW)
  5. Click on Event Deck
  6. Click on Card Pool
  7. Scroll around
  8. Add/remove cards to the deck
  9. Hit the center of a card so it zooms in (usually by accident)
  10. Click X in the upper right corner... Does NOT EXIT.
  • Try again.. nope... still stuck on this screen.
  • Clicking on the X does not close the screen <- this is the bug.
I can add/remove cards to the deck, scroll left and right...
However, I am unable to leave this screen.
Hard Kill the game.
Reload.

This bug does not happen every time. It happened 5 times this week, though.

    Hmm, could you tell me the make and model of the device you are using when this happens? 
    Are you running multiple background apps when this happens?

    When I started playing I was using a Samsung Galaxy S5.
    Now I am using a Samsung GS9+ with android version 8.0.0. 
    I've experienced the above issue on both devices.

    I may have other apps open. I've not paid attention to this detail. I'm sure that occasionally I have social media apps running in the background. Generally, I only have one game running at a time.
    Luckily, this issue has never cost me points. It's only happened while making or modifying a deck before playing a match.
