2.9 on the way?

@Brigby I've noticed that a good chunk of bugs listed in the Bugs Forum have been tagged with "will be fixed in 2.9"

Can you tell us when 2.9 will be coming and/or what will be in it?  Is it just bug fixes, or is there more to it?

    @Mburn7 I'm afraid I don't have a specific release date available, but we should be able to provide some Pre-Release Notes sometime next week.

    It could be the Ravnica update but it seems a bit early.
    The paper release is oct.5th and MtGPQ have been two-three weeks behind at best making it atleast a month away. 
    Pre-release notes have been posted around a week before a patch/update before, no?

    There is no way this is Ravnica.  Probably just a big enough bug fix to warrant its own release.

    Also, I would suspect that there is some other major change in there, like how the lands were all balanced in 2.8.
    I am just guessing, though, and I doubt @Brigby is allowed to/able to confirm this

    I really hope this is it. I can wait for Ravnica, but some of the cards they broke are just sad and if they actually took the time to clean a bunch up to put into a release, that would be great.

    Mind you, if they actually fixed a few, now and then, and just put in updates with that, bi-weekly, that would be even nicer, but I digress...
