3 Node PvP — Huge Quality of Life Improvement

If you can tell from my recent posts; 2 things are on my mind right now 1. How can our quality of life in the game be improved and 2. How can the devs work within the parameters of what we have to do this?

RtO and TDW are grindy. Almost all of us agree on this. We don’t want 5 node events in PvP or PvE — however why can’t they be run as 3 node events?

The colors could rotate which keeps the content fresh and RtO could be increased to an extra day.

No ideas yet for B4T, but this could be a good start.

4 nodes, and you choose an elder dragon to be. You get that dragon's extra loyalty abilities in matches for that event, and you fight against the other 4 factions.

I think TDW was nice, it had decent objectives. The extra PW abilities seemed like just another thing to keep track of though. And 3 nodes would be nice, 4 probably manageable.

I don't mind 5 nodes per se, events like Terrors in the Shadow start with so many charges that it feels like a mountain to climb. At least NoP, RtO and TDW (I think) start with 1 charge. I did like the weekend event ending on Sunday instead of dragging on to Monday.

More shorter events >>> more charges in fewer events

Edit: and as suggested in the Suggestions section; make RotGP legacy please!

Strongly disagree that TDW or even RtO are grindy. RtO even has the shortest duration of any currently active coalition events. What it needs is just a reworking of it's objectives on the black and green node.

Although, I guess it wouldn't be such a bad idea if they make TDW 2 days long instead of three. 5 nodes is perfect for these 2 PvPs. Don't decrease it. There are five elder dragons, not 3 or 4 .

If you want to talk about grindy events BoFT is what should be revisited. It was interesting the first 2 times. But now that event feels like revenge by devs for all the mean things players ever said about them.

TDW is the only 5 node event I've ever enjoyed . Even if they're fun at first, they get old super quick. That brings me once again to why. Why do we keep getting 5 node events? Some of them are fine at first , but just about all of us would prefer 3 nodes.

I thoroughly detest b4t . It's both long, and grindy. The 'bosses' are all slow, sloggy trigger fests. The stack of orbs and the decent rewards are nice, but I'd gladly take less to never deal with nodes 4 and 5 again.

5 node pvp events are just stressful. Especially when they have objectives like rto. They're weird and contradictory. It feels like they were just pulled from a hat .

I'm fairly sure that if I didn't have the coalition I have , I would have quit playing a long time ago . The game is great at its core , but continues to fall short of what it could be or even what it was . Standard is slowly turning into a train wreck ,too. It's kind of frustrating sometimes . It just feels like the devs are perpetually behind

I do not mind 5 nodes events, pvp or pve if they start with just 1 charge and last 3 days or 3 days and a half (starting early in friday if it is a weekend one).

I'm with @bken1234 5 nodes are most often too many. It's not undoable, but shouldn't be the normal thing. Also, duration has to be taken into account. 5 nodes for three days ate too much. 5 nodes for 2 days are better. RtO is another story, because the objectives make each battle last too long and the animations make the game slower

Looking at all the comments, here's my take on a quick summary.

3-Node events can go 3 days.
5-Node events only go 2 days.

PvE events should only have 3 or 4 nodes.
Boss health is stupid (not talked about here, but its been said a lot before)

Funky node rules are great sometimes, but not necessary all the time.  Also they are becoming so complicated nobody can remember which do what anymore.

The way i see it, the problem isn't really the 3 or 5 nodes, it is the fact that both have the same refresh frecuency ... (And the same rewards on top of it ... Which looks unlegitimate too actually).

Reducing the duration of the 5 nodes events is a good option to reduce the total number of encounters but the grindy feeling would probably remain because we would still have to play 15 games per day + the daily stuff ...

In the actual meta (full of boardwipes, troll cards like lich mastery, and tedious objectives) it can frequently take more than 10 minutes to deal with a game including secundaries. That means you're likely to play about 2h30/day (maybe more) just for the main event ... Way too grindy ... In particular when we spend more time awaiting for endless effects to trigger than actually swaping gems.

Overall, the best thing to do would probably be to apply a 12 hours refresh on 5 nodes events (instead of the 8 hours one) ...  Less games means less daily pressure, which is the main cause of saturation IMO.
