Rebuff story mode.

They need to do with story mode what they do with the nodes of trials of the planes.

If you complete 100% of the normal lvl. It resets (yes rewards too) and and is now in enrage mode then the mana bonus mode then legendary mode. That way it's not useless for us old timers.

Sure it would be playable for along time this way.

    Yes.

But I'd be also happy if they did anything whatsoever with the story node. Renew it, yes. Make it larger. Add stuff to it. Change the cards of the AI and restart the whole thing. Anything whatsoever.

I would love this! It looks like you're suggesting each battle do this individually, which would be great. If they want to require more, hopefully they don't do more than having to 100% a chapter at a time. Also, it would be nice if they added a single event-style deck slot to story mode, so you can make single use decks for the objectives instead of having to edit your main decks repeatedly.

Please post this in the Q&A session they opened up. Realize if we all start pushing story mode in these Q&A sessions and make it the #1 item, they will be forced to deal with it!

I just figured it was the easiest way to make story mode playable again for older players. How they implement it is on them.

Totally agreed! I suggested they lock story mode and open one chapter per week. Players grind and farm that chapter for runes and crystals, etc. then after a week, they lock that chapter and open the next one, etc. when they hit the end of the last chapter, they start over and it’s all reset for player to re-harvest.

It would solve lack of runes, crystals and general lack of content for most players.

Not a bad idea, turning story mode into a large PvE event.

I'd say do a chapter in 2 or 3 weeks instead of a chapter in 1 week, though.  There are a lot of fights in a chapter, and once you hit the Zendikar ones they get pretty tough.

    Thats a good idea.
I would also really like to see the Planeswalker challenges updated to include all released PWs. They can do it really easily just by having a node for each walker that is their beginner/master/expert decks since those are already all block specific and were standard at the time of the PWs release. They could also add legacy nodes and have them start with stuff on the board like the current challenges too. A nice reward would be unlocking an additional deck slot for that specific walker!

Locking story mode would shut out new players who might not be strong enough to take on later chapers (ex: Eldrazi levels in Zenidkar).

I'm all for adding to story mode, but this would be a restriction.  Players need something to do besides Events, and this would be turning story mode into just another event.

Previous attempts to re-buff have been rebuffed.

I would love to see them address Story Mode, though, or incorporate the lore into other events.   Am I the only one disappointed that the Journey Through History events contained a single blurb for all chapters?

I mean, the event has fun titles like "A Nightmare of War" and "Lies in Illusions" and "Pits of Nightmares", but then all we get is a completely nondescript paragraph that's not only general, but provides absolutely no context for the event. Every one of those loading screens was an opportunity for something fun and descriptive to be shared. It's like giving us a bunch of headlines and refusing to let us read the newspaper.

I wholeheartedly agree with you here.  I played through these blocks in my childhood, and the storyline was fantastic.  At the absolute minimum they should add some basic lore for each match at the loading screen.  Players who didn't know the storyline before the event, would not really be any more knowledgeable after.

Imagine if this had been a Kamigawa event, the developer's lore would be something like:

So there were humans and spirits and snakes and stuff.  They fought and somebody won.

    Or Mirrodin:

So there was a planet full of metal, but then it got Phyrexianized.  Just oil and sadness now...

    Ravnica:

Buildings man...there's lots of them here.  Sometimes there's people in the buildings, sometimes they're outside...next to the buildings.  Lots and lots of buildings.

    Theros:

Gods don't like each other and everybody is an enchantment.

    I could go on...

    Weatherlight:

There was a ship called the Weatherlight, and people in it.

    Urza Block:

    Bannings. Lot of them.

    Homelands:

    Innistrad:

Werewolves vs Zombies vs Vampires vs Spirits vs Humans vs Scarecrows vs Angels vs Demons vs Liliana

    Tarkir:

Humans fight dragons.  Humans win.  Then time travel.  Then Dragons win.

    Fiora:

Political maneuvering but killing is legal and the king is an immortal ghost.  Then he is assassinated.  New queen likes killing too much, so the people revolt.

You all are hilarious, but honestly, even now you're giving more detail than they did in the Journey through History event. See, you can't even resist--the lore is so rich and deep that details just spill out. But not here.

    Their version is more like:

    Tarkir
Dragons once thrived on the plane of Tarkir.

    Innistrad
Life on Innistrad is dominated by the single moon in its sky.
