Is there anywhere with up to date information?

I've been playing for a little while now, not super long though, and just recently browsing the forums Tips and Strategies sections, and like 90+ percent of the info is a minimum of a year old, with no new comments or anything... Is there somewhere I'm missing that's more updated, or are the whole forums and such just dying off?

Most of the activity is on the bugs subforum, followed by general.. The coalition forum gets some updates, and pws from time to time as well. Tips and strategies are mostly discussed internal, in the coalitions (often in external platforms like Slack or discord).

This is a really good point. It can be difficult to find up-to-date information. One of the reasons third-party chat groups like the ones on slack and discord is that it allows us to get information to people quickly and efficiently

Have you read the FAQ @span_argoman put together? It’s about due for another update but it should be pretty relevant.

Rumor has it that the community is working on a new resource to help get the information to the player with a simple google search rather than the current system which usually involves digging through the forum posts and finding answers buried on page 4 of an unrelated topic.

Communication is something that D3Go really struggles with.

@Arsinik, I've played for about a year before deciding to join a top coalition and I can tell you, the amount of information you can get from a coalition's Slack/Discord servers is night and day compared to what you'll find here in the Forums/reddit or anywhere else.  I've learned so much just from reading some of the google docs/sheets shared freely by helpful coalition members.  The best part is you are under no obligation to play in all the events and coalition leaders work tirelessly to make sure all members are assigned the groups that fit their objectives (i.e., ambitious/win all nodes to relaxed/can't play any of the games).

I know this isn't a good solution to most who would rather solo the game and I wish some of these google docs/sheets can be made available here, but the game has been adding a lot of new cards and content lately that there's actually a lot of things to learn and the work to keep that information up to date.  I remember at the beginning I was already struggling to keep track of what each abilities do like Reach vs Defender and Menace vs Unblockable, etc.  Now there's at least double and triple the number of different card abilities to learn.  To be honest, a coalition will not really help you learn all these things about the game either, and also, I don't like bugging people in the coalition with so many questions about what does this card/planeswalker do.  Where I learn from, in addition to the aforementioned google doc/sheets, are from people posting deck ideas and bragging about the new card they just pulled and the discussion that ensues.  Even before I can type/say anything I can already get a general idea of which cards to shoot for (or play if I already have them) and which Planeswalker to use for a particular node, etc.

So, if you want to take your enjoyment of the game to new heights, I suggest you go to the Coalition section and find the one that you think sounds right for you and you'll be amazed.

Sorry for replying so late. Yeah unfortunately most of the information on the Tips & Guides subforum is outdated. I do try to keep my guides updated but the forum doesn't bump topics up when they're edited  There have been one or two newbie topics here on General Discussion which people have posted helpful advice on such as this topic.

Newbie Guide: Setting Expectations for MTG:PQ was last updated in April this year and the recommendations there still hold even after the release of the M19 Core Set. It's primarily missing a section to recommend how to and what to spend Jewels on but otherwise the information there has been checked through to make sure that they are still relevant. It'll give you general recommendations on what to do to try to maximise the free rewards you earn just from playing and gives an overview of the various aspects of the game.

Is Trial of the Planes for You? was last updated just before the release of M19 (ie. July this year) due to the significant changes to the Elite Packs, hence changing the value of Jewels and correspondingly Trial of the Planes (TotP). This is a good article to read for anyone trying to understand the value of Jewels and also whether to play TotP. To summarise for the latter point, if you're new then don't play TotP.

Details about each event in the game can be found in the Event Details subforum.

And it is true that the well-organised coalitions will be able to provide you with a more consistent stream of information and advice. But in the meantime if you've any other questions, feel free to ask them here.
