Push notifications keep on showing while disabled

Hi,
Since the latest update I keep on receiving push notifications while they are disabled, on my Android phone.

I had the issue that the game kept on showing errors after the latest update, and ran through the workaround by re-installing the app with Facebook connection.
After the update & reinstall, I started receiving the notifications (replenish of planeswalkers health & boosters awaiting).
I disabled all the notifications in the android app settings, and also turned off notification messages of the app in Facebook itself.
I don't see any other location to disable them. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you re-disable them after reinstalling? That reset my notification settings when I had to. Also, fun fact, if you click and hold an Android notification for a few seconds, it'll tell you which app it came from and give you a link (i in a white circle) to the notification settings for that app! I find it quite handy.

    Yes, I did.
Already went through all the settings, also via the quick link ;)
All notifications are disabled in settings, and still MTG PQ keeps on showing them :(

Huh, that's weird. You could try turning on the the No Peeking setting. If it works, at least the notifications won't block your view. I've never heard of the block all notifications setting not working though, have you tried it with other apps?

Yes, it only occurs with the MTG PQ app after the update & reinstallation.
    Before that, it didn't occur.
And with other apps it doesn't occur.

Have you tried turning the Block all notifications setting off and back on again? Possibly restarting your device in the process might help. Since it's just PQ, I suspect your phone somehow got confused about the setting. Actually, if it's really confused, leaving the block setting off might actually be on… that'd be weird, but this is a weird problem.

I again removed the app from my smartphone & in facebook connected apps, reinstalled it & applied the same notification block settings. Now it seems resolved.

Unfortunately, the push messages keep on popping up again :(

Have you sent in a customer support ticket? I'm out of ideas at this point, maybe they'd have some clue what's going on.

Seems it's not only with the MTG app, but some other apps too (not all though).
The common factor of those apps is that they are linked to Facebook. So I guess it's more a FB issue, not MTG PQ specific.

Hmm that's peculiar. Have you tried going into your Facebook account's Apps and Websites settings and reviewing the notification settings for Magic The Gathering Puzzle Quest? It might be enabled there.

That's the odd thing. Those are disabled over there too..

Oh yeah, I thought of a potential workaround. If you go into the app settings, under data there should be an option to block background data use. It might not work perfectly, but blocking it for Facebook and this app should make the notifications only able to load when the app is open, or if they're on timers instead of being push notifications.
