Battery observations

Not quite sure where to post this.
I notice that MTGPQ seems to eat battery much faster and that my phone is also running a lot hotter after playing.
Anyone else?

Yup +1I have to now pace out my games for fear of super overheating leading to a new form of SWWAlso found here:

I can corroborate that even plugged in, the phone can barely keep up with the battery drain. I'd rather have a longer lasting battery than fancy animations... Can we please have a toggle for a battery saving mode?1

Working to slow down the rate at which MtGPQ drains the battery is definitely something the team is working on. Not sure when they'll be finished with it, but we'll be sure to inform everyone once that's been implemented.7

Folks on this thread: I think there is plenty of evidence at this point to confirm that there is something new going on with battery drainage. To help, can you all answer the following:
When you experienced this excessive battery use, overheating, etc... were you playing on wifi or on your carrier 4G network?
If you are willing to go a step further and help get some data:
1) charge to 100%, unplug from power, then play 20 min worth of TG matches while on wifi
2) charge to 100%, unplug from power, then play 20 min worth of TG matches on your carrier network0 -
I sent an e-mail to support regarding this issue as it only started after 2.8 update. After asking if it occured on wifi or data (I replied both) they responded by saying it's my device.
Alrighty then.1 -
Support doesn't know anything about the technical details of either the game or any device, they only exist to filter feedback. Most likely the support worker you dealt with wanted to be helpful.

Didn't think they would have a solution 😛 but I now just send tickets, that's the only way to get it to the right people. Two weeks ago when the server went crazy and we couldn't play they weren't aware because no one sent a ticket. When we did, it was fixed very quickly.0

Yes, you're right, I've been using tickets more frequently myself and I noticed a change in the tone and quality of their replies. There is standard text, but it's not always just your canned response of the past (typically asking for the very information you provided in your original message). This weekend I sent several tickets and all exchanges ended with them asking me for confirmation if this is what they should pass on as feedback, either quoting something I wrote or summarizing it.One exchange was nice. In the end they asked if they could do something for me and I confirmed and asked them to have a look at the bug forum. Then I was asked if the following is the feedback I wanted "to share with the team:1. The amount of bugs introduced in the latest update is unacceptable. The existing bugs should at least be acknowledged."I couldn't have said it better.

MarvinFine said:An option to turn off a bunch of animations would probably help with battery time, in addition to it helping with many of the animations being too slow, and a bunch of them juddering noticeably in the late game, too.0

I noticed that my phone is heating up alarmingly after playing for a bit

The bit where the phone has always heated up with tons of energy and supports on board was revealed that it wasn't about the animations but about the extra information being sent and that makes sense... The phones are designed to animate now and there's nothing really to warm up from that. The network usage _does_ tie in with how the technology works so that makes far more sense.1

This game is murder on the battery . Playing through tg and ai usually drains about 80-90% of my battery. I'll rarely play any coalition matches without my charger in hand. I can't really say I've noticed a huge difference. For me , it's always been pretty bad .0

My english in that post is terrible... Anyway, in these devices antennas warm up and batteries with problems can warm up but the chips doing the screen don't, not like graphics cards in PCs.0
