The Dragon War - Your Thoughts?

Liked ItI enjoyed the event. It's nice to have objectives that are mostly under player control, though I was a bit worried about that "causing X damage to creatures" one. Overall, decreasing dependencies on opposing decks is a huge positive for the game.I thought the additional loyalty abilities were a bit much, but it certainly did add to the challenge. I sure loved when Kiora dropped a 64/32 octopus against me on the top node! Oktagon has a history of confusing quantity with quality. While I've liked much of their design philosophy, their tendency to just try and stick as many effects as they can on a card has now spilled over to events, and I wish they'd just chill a bit. Every node doesn't need 6 unique effects.Overall, though, it was fun to deckbuild and I loved seeing such a wide range of decks and strategies.2

IndifferentI've very loudly voiced my dislike for 5 node events in the past. This is no different. However the color combos were fun and new and the objectives coupled with the new standard kept decks pretty tame. Probably the most I've enjoyed a 5 node event. However I'd still like to see smaller events with smaller brackets.1

Liked ItI liked it okay. There was a lot going on in this event, and it's a little all over the place.
I thought the idea of the bonuses to PW ability was really neat and original, but each ability was very complex. I think they could be toned down a bit, or simplified for the sake of the text box.
On a similar note, i thought the color changing supports was maybe my favorite thing. I don't know if it was intentional but it was really neat!
Someone mentioned they didn't get a sense of the actual dragons we were fighting for/ against, and I totally agree. Again, the big bonus to our planeswalker abilities didn't feel so much like the dragons but more like our own PWs getting supercharged. I would've like to PLAY with the legendary Dragon cards, seeding our decks similarly to the Dominaria Journey Through History events

IndifferentAlthough I appreciate the perfect bell distribution the poll returns everytime I look, I think we should take the very same poll again after the event is run a couple of times to see how fast it burns out. In the end, we always like something new or different. The "too much" part @madwren mentioned is really not to be underestimated. Complexity doesn't equal creativity or fun.0

Hated ItToo time consuming to build decks, so I found a lot of opponents just ignored the ribbons and went into the pvp matches with their set decks.
Another annoying thing was that spells that destroyed supports tried to destroy the permanent dragon supports. So unless I disabled them in my hand they would be wasted. This costed me a game when the next turn Lich was played.
Also annoying issue was the never ending cascades Greg got right at the start of the game, where he emptied his hand in turn 1, which meant I couldn’t catch up.2 -

Loved ItI especially loved the fact that the opposing PWs were unpredictable in using their abilities during this event.
I never play test or build for the objectives beforehand, so not knowing the exact objectives or the node effects were not a problem for me personally, but I can see how that would affect other players' performances.
If objectives being easy to achieve is a problem for some people I'd rather they tweaked the AI to be harder during the event than changing the objectives that much.
I also disagree that adding abilities to PWs was too much or too complicated. It was a new concept and added a layer to the game play that was not only creative but also fun.

Hated It45 matches is way too much. Period. One round took about one hour to play, so there were roughly 9 hours spent in the game just for this event. Nine hours. Who designs something like this?Well, whoever he or she is, they have my respect because the event as such is well done with the added PW abilities. But why nine charges? And what for? Less than half of them would have been enough to reach progression.Another serious drawback was the extra layer of bugs that was introduced and the secret nerfs (or additional bugs) of cards like Settle the Wreckage.2

Liked ItI liked it, but 3 days are too many

Loved ItDoing one round took 30 minutes on average for me. It's not so bad.0

Liked ItI thought it was really, really fun—especially the weird deckbuilding challenges. Only, by Monday the novelty really started to drag on. By the time you perfect the strategy, there isn’t anything particularly interesting about jumping through hoops to fulfill some weird objective for the whatever’th time.

Dislike: No hard objectives. Length. Bracket size.0 -
Loved ItLoved it and the objectives were really good ones, hope they make more PvP events like this in future.
But the coalition rewards are rubbish they need to change them like a bonus rare or even that mythic from the progression to get more orbs0 -
Liked ItI CANNOT BELIEVE that the node-specific support details still aren't written in the event description. It's such a simple thing to do, that would greatly assist EVERYONE competing in the event.
At least this time I mostly remembered what they were, so was able to choose my walkers better and compete better on the first round of charges1 -
I'm Not Sure!I used to like it when it didn't mean playing 5 nodes in a meta full of tricky cards beetween 6 and 7 o'clock in the morning with a child running all over the place on a working day. In fact ... I liked it as long as i have been able to play it.0

Loved ItI built decks this time around the extra abilities— I wasn’t able to do that last time because I was traveling.
Its really, really fun.
I do wish, however that it was 3 nodes. I wish all events were 3 nodes. Why can’t the nodes rotate??1 -
