Desecrated Tomb doesn't trigger on return to battlefield effects

Tomb says, 'Whenever a creature card leaves your graveyard, create two Bat tokens.'
If I use Oathsworn Vampires, which return to the battlefield from my graveyard (thereby 'leaving' it) no bats are created.
How is this Tomb supposed to work?
