Top progression awards unachievable?

Why are these no longer achievable in PVE events?

The last few events I've looked at the top rank players and they have barely scraped past the half way point on progression awards. I get that the top rewards should be hard to get but making them physically impossible is absurd.

Even when I checked the top players in the top alliances they were barely past the 60% mark.

  • The PvE events lately:

Small Carrots: Top couple of progression awards.

Big Sticks: Weird rubberbanding, evil scaling that stops people grinding. Result of these is lack of points.

Before I entered scaling hell, I was able to grind down every node once per cycle, and still never got close to the top progression award. The math doesn't work.
  • They don't want people to get any of the good stuff that much is EASY to see.
  • It's one of my main complaints, I don't care if I get first or anything in pve events. but if I can do most of the progressions, I don't care about my rank. but the way they change it. It's not that fun doing pve cause they like showing the carrot on the stick. You see it, but you can't get it.

The recent Heroic event is proof that at least in PvE the top rewards are meant to be unachievable. At the start they saw that it aas obvious the top rewards would he claimed extremely fast, faster than was imagined. Instead of accepting this and saying "Yeah we fould up, have these rewards as good faith for how bad we have done the PvE's recently", they decided to change tje ahole scoring mechanism and in the process causing major furore on their official forums while staying sillent for hours. When the dust settled rewards were out of reach again. Oh and also everyone predicted out of control scaling but that was an iszue that was ignored too.
  • Clearly the devs have miscalculated the player bases' will to grind. With scaling penalizing you for the more you play, why would anyone keep grinding if they get lvl 400s as a reward? People are not gonna kill themselves for 7-9 days for a mediocre progression reward, only to be penalized and then expected to do it again in a few days for the next pve.
  • Very true. I probably could have done more in the latest heroic event (a.k.a being repeatedly owned by lower rank opponents) but I just tried to keep myself 'competitive' with other payers I think my top goal was the hero points at 30k and just about managed to get them before it ended.
