The 500 MC Bundle for $29.99

That 500 MC isn't a terrible deal. $29.99 nets you 500 MC which is worth $16.66 (given the price of $100 for 3000). To arrive at a valuation of the pink we'll use the TOTP exchange rate (30 MC for 20 pink). That means the pink is worth 180 MC. That means just for the currency you've got a bundle valuation of $22.66. The question then is what are 3 packs and 25,000 runes worth? Maybe we can think about time for the runes. It takes 100 matches to earn that many runes. You'd be hard pressed to do a match in under 3 minutes so let's just be generous and say 3. That means buying this pack saves you 5 hours of grinding. If you value your time in any meaningful way you can buy back 5 hours for $7.33.

I got it to put me over the edge to pull another elite pack before Josu rotated out. And I got Josu. Now I’m over 3500 crystals for M19 and I’ve brought the zombie apocalypse to TG.

This was a well balanced deal and totally worth it.

Yeah a beast but Ghalta still beats him into ground.

The deal is okay, but there are better deals from time to time.

What? Dari is clearly more of a beast. Josu is a gentleman and knight. He just happens to also be undead...

I did the exact same thing and have been chasing Josu for awhile now, the green hour that says it creates zombie tokens don't count as zombie tokens for Josu's Zombie token though. I haven't tried the blue one but I expect the same, sigh. You using Karn, L3, or Sorin?

All? I can't think of a black deck that doesn't want him. He's the apex of black creatures.

He's like Desolation Twin but better. He spawns off a huge creature stack and that creature stack has leader with two readily available types - zombie and knight. He interacts well with so many cards especially in legacy. He's definitely a card to chase. Him and Ghalta are neck and neck for the best we've seen designed by Oktagon.

Ghalta is not neck and neck. Ghalta with uncage clean the floor with one Josu under his dozen feets.

Josu is strong in the right deck and Ghalta vulnerable to destruction but Galta won me a lot more matches in shorter time than every other deck in the last three month. And with Garruks skills and path of experience mana is npt a problem, other win conditions are not a problem and sometimes greg fears a small bunch of wolfs more than a couple of ghaltas.

I'll like Josu better when he's not buggy. As it stands, his minions only assimilate zombie tokens; the knight tokens don't work. Even more annoying is that as the list of token creature types continues to grow, I can very easily see him remaining bugged. We have three or four different types of knight tokens, I believe (knights, dominaria knights, knight allies...maybe one more?), and at least two kinds of zombie tokens (regular 2/2, and Amonkhet 4/4). I do realize that only the vanilla versions of each token should technically be applied to the Leader bonus, but I can't help but wonder if the reason Josu's buddy is bugged is because of the different token types that exist. So I still worry that there will continue to be problems with this card as the game evolves and Oktagon is forced to introduce more and more tokens based on Wizards' new content.

Of course all of this is predicated on the fact that I haven't used him post-2.7.1, so I could just be behind the times.

Regarding Ghalta, I agree with IM_CARLOS: Ghalta is a much bigger threat to deal with. That's one of a very short list of cards that makes me pucker up when I see it come into play on the other side, because I know from abusing the hell out of it just how quickly it can get out of hand if you don't take care of it. In fact, the last time I remember being that worried about any particular mythic creature was back in SOI. Specifically I'm talking about offenders like Olivia, Emrakul, and Decimator.

Anyway, back to the main point of the thread, your valuation provides some valuable food for thought. Thanks for the post!

So... About that bundle ... It's good n stuff. Also , ghalta is a beast . Josu is a beast .They're an apple and an orange , though. One is bonkers on its own , one needs some setup to reach bonkers levels . I use both extensively. Almost every green deck has ghalta and gr and almost every black deck has josu. However, josu made me like l3 again and ghalta made me like garruk. I'd give em both a solid 9.5.

People have different experiences with Josu than I... He DID eat hour of promise zombies and he DID eat eternal tokens and knight tokens, but all that was prior to the patch, since the patch I've seen weird token stuff.

In the "history" event the stack of dominaria knights got reinforced by the goblin tokens, what?

Well if you bought 1-2 of these to stock up on Mana Jewels your bet paid off! Now Omniscience can enter the legacy meta in a big way.
