Silver Surfer Singularity still active after death

I noticed this behavior in one of the Civil War nodes where the Silver Surfer was an enemy.  Silver Surfer launched his black countdown tile.  The next turn, I killed him.  However, when the tile counted down, it still destroyed adjacent tiles and continued to do this until it finally disappeared.
