Clicking on a card link in the battle log freezes the game [Investigating]

As the title says, clicking on a card link in the battle log freezes the game. The link leads to the card, but apart from the artwork, the card is grayed out - and so is the little x in the top right corner, i.e. it's impossible to close the screen. The card finder at the bottom right leads to the overview where the card can be got from, but none of the origins can be clicked on. You can only close that screen to get back to the previous one that can't be closed.

I've been trying to avoid using the Battle Log because of this.
