I love the way the mmr now works in PvP. I personally find it quite balanced now. Previously, I'd start out with teams worth so little points and after a string of wins, I'd run into walls of level 141 which I had issues trying to clear with my roster which meant needing to tank before being able to continue. Now, I'm pretty much seeing teams which are on par with my own. Sure, it greatly increases the probability of retaliations but at the same time, I can actually progress faster since I don't run into rosters much stronger than my own and need to tank to proceed.

Agreed its nice playing simalar lvld teams
  • Makes it really, really difficult to make a run on top ten, though. Eventually you just run out of steam.
  • And there is no reason to ever level your roster because if you do your not going to get stronger!! Everyone wins! Wait...

Sorry meant same points not level...now that I have some three stars maxed out it means playing earlier and often to get top ten
  • And i dont feel like that at all, playing not Ares 85 + BW** 69 + 27 loki in this event.
I get to fight against similar teams - ok, thats reasonable
Most of the time i get ppl with fewer points than i have means i get 19-25pts per win, that could be bearable if not the next thing
In the time i win 1 fight, i get attacked twice and lose ~30-40 points, because i get attacked by ppl who have less points than i do

In the end, i might be able to sustain my position around ~48th place, but i ran out of healthpacks, because random cascades on enemy team still does **** of dmg, waiting for healthpacks to recover, -140... bye bye top 100

Don't feel like it should be like that, how can i get my team better if i have to put my trust in totally random recruit tokens, because i cannot win normal rewards.

It should not let 2 ppl attack you at the same time.
  • I hate it personally. I'm almost never offered fights against people who have more points than me, beyond 450-500 points every single fight gave me less that 25, later on less than 20 points. I actually checked this. I skipped maybe hundred people between several matches in the half hour I played. Match for 24 points was like - a miracle. And that while I myself was sitting at ~650. Are you seriously telling me, I'm the only 2* roster to get that far, so the game can't offer me any better? Ha.

This means I'm offered matches against people who have lower points than me. This in turn means that when I win and climb even further away... they will be able to retaliate for more than I managed to win off them. Yay. The only times I see fights over 25 are the retaliations I'm offered myself, but for those I'll have to have lost points to begin with, so it's not like I actually gain anything. Add to it the occasional inevitable loss when you're attacking equally matched teams and I'll lose twice more than I can gain while I'm actively playing.
  • Ok i think i got quite good record,

GOT ATTACKED 6 TIMES (lost all, -109 pts) WHILE PLAYING (winning) 1 PVP FIght (+22 pts)

    Whos more?
  • The latest change to PvP mmr makes this game P2W. While it is more balanced, it is nearly impossible to maintain top 10 without shields. It is also getting increasingly difficult to reach top 10 in the first place.

I was going to do another post called "Attack of the casuals" but I think I'll just stick with this thread though my original intent of this thread was to address the fact that tanking isn't needed now.

When the devs implemented this change, they made it such that the number of attacks by casual players shot up a lot. This results in losses as much as 45 points which is bad. You don't even need to be hit by multiple people to lose more points than you gain. The only way to see a net gain of points is to attack in between shields which means spending a lot more hp.

They really need to make it such that you get to fight people at the same level - no need for tanking but not get hit by so many people that are just casual players. The previous implementation was good that you don't get hit so often by casual players but it was silly to have to tank. I usually start early and push to 700 pts on the first day so the number of hits from casual players is very obvious.
