Are fall of thran and star of extinction supposed to destroy all supports?

I ask because cards like abbot of kerala keep destroy gems and take a shield off supports but don't outright destroy them.

It seems inconsistent.

Fall of thran does not destroy supports. Star of extinction does though and considering the cost it seems only fair.

But good point about Abbot. That makes me see all cards that destroy gems in a new potential light. HtS, avaricious dragon, rambler etc

Different purposes.  Star is supposed to be a complete wipe.  Other gem destruction is not.

I agree they should have worded it better, but functionally it seems fine (note, I do not have it)

Fall of the Thran is not a total reset (I don't think it is at least), so it makes sense that it doesn't insta-kill all the supports.

oh man, I completely assumed Fall of the Thran destroyed supports, like Star. Makes me want to play it with Nyx for extra mana boosts

Only the third chapter of sagas will repeat with nyx. I tried to abuse the benalia one and ended disappointed. You can repeat the gem conversion but then nyx won't be able to bring back another support (except if it's destroyed during oponents turn, which is generally the case tho)

Fall of the Thran with Starfield is great though. Coming back as the 3rd chapter just means some great gem conversion in white.

Fine with me, I just want the gem conversions. Plus, I've found that it still works well with settle the wreckage, as opponent triggers settle, you get it back the next turn, then you get back on track with fall!
