When Darigaaz Reincarnated is discarded it should create the Darigaaz's Rebirth Token but it doesn't.

The “is destroyed” effect on creatures only triggers when they are destroyed from the battlefield.  It never happens on discard.

Yes you are right on discard, but when destroyed by Gather the Pack (from library) or Lich's Mastery (from hand) should create the token. Prized amalgam, Scrapheap Scrounger, embalm creatures and eternalize creatures  "is destroyed" effect works with Gather the Pack from library and not only from battlefield.

I thought so too. And as an owner of the card, personally, i feel it might be too powerful if it were changed to that. So kinda torn on what should be done.

Embalm / Eternalize are “in the graveyard” effects to create the activated gems.
Scrapheap and Prized Amalgam are also “in the graveyard” effects, as it only triggers when there.  The wording is a bit awkward on these, as the typical way for something to end up in the graveyard is for it to have been destroyed from play.  This does not preclude discard effects or being destroyed from the library.

Darigaaz has has to be in play to activate his ability. The same as the Kamigawa Dragons or Hangarback Walker.  They need to be in play to trigger their “on destroy” effect.

The problem is the particular wording, but no bug. The effect is more comparable to relentless dead.

This is incorrect. There are several cards that are not working correctly in this fashion. Squee says "when it is destroyed" yet when you use him with Gather the Pack which says "Destroy creatures" he does not come back. Nor does Squee work correctly with Growing Rites. These are supposed to be ways to "cheat" out high cost cards. By discarding them or destroying them with these combo cards. It works correctly with Embalm and Eternalize and Akoum Firebird and many others.

If you don't believe this is inconsistent, try Gather the Pack with Akoum Firebird. When you get a landfall tell me how many times the firebird comes out. Hint: It's way more than zero.

All these examples do prove my point : the problem is inconsistent wording, not surprising behavior.
All these cards have certain triggers. There are triggers related to the act of dying on the battlefield (RD immediately returns, Squee as RD, rekindling Phoenix creates a token, darigaaz creates a support) and other triggers non related to the act (enbalm - activate gem, PA - when a zombie enters the battlefield, Firebird - landfall red). This game needs rules for wording : darigaaz works exactly as expected - the conditions to trigger the return are not met, but it is correctly in the gy. That's why the support brings back more than one copy. or did you wonder that a relentless dead doesn't pop back when discarded?

All they have to do is add "destroyed from the battlefield" to the text and it will be working correctly.

Guys, darigaaz's ability clearly triggers only when it's on the battlefield, if it was meant to trigger from any other game zone it would say so in the card. You are comparing apples to oranges. All the examples above refer to creatures with abilities that trigger from the graveyard and therefore don't care how the card got there in the first place. To me the text in gather the pack is wrong, but I guess someone didn't want the card to be wordy and used destroy as a shortcut to put in graveyard.

As a side note, once the support is created it will bring back any copy of Darigaaz back, no matter how it got in the graveyard, but to get the support Darigaaz has to be killed in the battlefield first.
