Triumph of Gerrad + Kwende, Pride of Femeref

Hi everyone,

I was playing node 2.3 of A World Reborn when this happened.
I had  Etali and Kwende on the field. Kewnde's ability gives double Strike to  creatures with first strike, so Etali doesn't get double strike.
But then I played Triumph of Gerrad, on the last chapter Etali got flying, life link and first strike till the end of the turn, activating Kwende to give Etali Double Strike. But when the turn ended Etali lost First Strike but did not loses Double Strike.
Is that supose to wok like that?
