I know of other people who got the same tinykitty... Only uncommons from a 3x pack strongly enforces my belief that they adjusted the drop rates since the moment RIX was released. I noticed after some later release that my drops were no longer that good either. What pisses me off is the lack of transparency in this direction, especially since the loot chances table ingame suggests that nothing has changed.

As for the pity timer, it is something Blizzard has been doing in other games too. In Diablo 3 you are also guaranteed a set/unique item if you've dropped none after a certain period of playing. Of course on higher difficulties now they are ubiquitous, but it was still a very nice implementation and has definitely not led to me to get bored because "I had too many shiny toys".

On contraire, as a player with a VERY solid card pool I can say that having more cards makes the whole deckbuilding experience highly difficult. Sure, you could play those same powered mythics again and again, but that is the moment when balancing can actually happen. Otherwise we are now stuck in the limbo of people who were lucky to get them and are super happy and don't want those cards to be touched, and others who don't have them and keeping running into them messing their plans... Now if everyone had the chance to get the toys, there would be less people upset.

As for the overestimation of Crafting, I would like to point out that with SO MANY new sets coming out as well as the recent set being SO expensive, the current Oktagon/D3 team really assumes we can all craft like crazy, or just pretend they don't get how long it takes to craft things. Add on top of this the accelerated rotations and voila, any "benefit" crafting was supposed to have for the masses only help top players complete their collections faster. I'm not saying it's not a powerful feature, just stating that for the regular player crafting does NOT justify the increased costs of the most recent packs and the very fast rotations.
    This. All of it.

Do you every realize, that we're talking just about platinum tier? At current state of the game, I do not recommend any one to start playing. You won't have enough crystals to buy PWs AND packs. You will never have enough runes to level up your walkers. And playing up to platinum is crazily hard without grinding and then you won't have the cards to compete.

I'd like to see more transparency too (e.g. how the published drop rates are selected, why they're so different for different sets, and why they change).  But when it comes to rubbish packs, simple RNG dictates that some proportion of the time, packs will be ****.  It's part of the bargain, again barring something like a pity timer.  So their existence isn't telling.  Their rate of occurrence could be, but over the long term (which is the only way it can be usefully measured), it still seems that the rate at which it happens, and the rate you'd expect it to happen if the published drop rates were correct, match pretty well.

Unfortunately getting to platinum also becomes a forced thing now thanks to the accelerated rotations and actually happens much faster for players than necessary.
Tiers not being adjusted for ages is another topic for discussion though...

They get worse rewards because they can't compete at the same level.

As to the topic of this thread, on release RIX had significant better droprates than any other set (by the in-game percentages). Currently, the rates are down to around the level of everything but Ixalan. I think the switch happened when the price of the packs went down, but I'm not sure.

Overall, there was a lowering of RIX droprates, the listed percentages changed too. That there was no announcement is rather sketchy though.

@DBJones RIX rates dropped at the same time that the bonus Crafting Orbs period ended, ie. after the first month of release and when RIX became available for crafting. This was the same timing as for XLN.

And as far as I'm aware, RIX pack prices never went down. They stayed at 80/200/320 until they rotated out of the Vault.

Things do seem to come in waves . I had terrible luck with akh , then it was like they were handing out free mythics for me in hou. I didn't get much xln on principle , but my rix pulls have been about par for the course. As a weird sort of side phenomenon, my legacy pulls have been ridiculous lately . Got a mp in my free sign in kld pack , cracked ulrich in my progression booster in terrors. Next month, I'll probably be back to 'woo, lemme open this pack o commons right quick'. We tend to only really notice the feels when they're bad, but I have a feeling that if you reflected upon your total time in this game, it'll all work out.

My luck was pretty normal for the first year I played here, but then in late December I went on a big lucky streak that lasted thru April.  Now I have all the rares and below so lucky or not I’m not getting any new cards.
