Question about PVP, thanks in advance!

in PVP events When you beat someone, who do they face as retaliation? Is it the team you beat them with or is it the team you used last?

For example I play and defeat opponent A with obw/awolv/pun then play and defeat opponent B next with hulk/ares/cstorm who does opponent A play against?

I always thought it was the team that you play as last so in this case it would be ares/hulk/storm, correct?

But if that is the case then what happens when opponent A checks to see who it was that beat them (in this case it's before I beat opponent B, so oppA sees obw/pun/wolv) decides not to retaliate right away, comes back on later after I have beaten opponent B? Which team will he see?? Will it change ?

Also while I'm at it, does the value of a retaliation match change in accordance with your current position/how far you are from 1st place. Let's say I'm ranked #2 and the #1 ranked person has 500 points, I check a retaliation match and it's worth 10 points. When I come back on later I see I'm ranked #100 and the #1 person now has a score
Of 1000, will that same retaliation match be worth more or still 10 points?

Retaliation always sees the team you defeated them with.

The points from a match is solely dependent on the difference between your rating and their rating. The game tries to show you the most up to date information, but for whatever reason it's not very good at it, so sometimes you get more or less than you're expecting because the information you see on the other guy's rating is wrong. Still, if the game says that guy is worth 10 points, you probably should believe the game instead of hoping it somehow turns into a 40 points fight.

Quick question. If I attack someone on the desert node do I show up as a retaliation option under the same node?

Or are nodes for retaliations just random?

Retaliations are random, but you can funnel it into a certain node by never clearing out retaliations on the other two nodes. I think if you received a retaliation while you're at the node selection screen you can force it to a specific node by selecting a node and then skip that fight, and then the retaliation will be on that node (probably because the game doesn't want to randomly overwrite your existing matches and figure the one you skipped must be the node you don't care about). Note that if you leave the screen the game will indeed just pick a random spot to place the retaliation after you come back.
