Fix the PvE end times already!

Once again, the final charge for a coalition event comes at 3:00 am on a work day (I go to work at 6:00).  This is stupid and it needs to be fixed.
First of all, Boss Health needs to go.  Boss health guarantees that the game ends at a horrible time for multiple time zones in the world.
Two good solutions to the end time problem have been proposed over and over:
1.  Give us all of the charges up front, then we can play at reasonable times of our choosing.
2.  Give us at least 12 hours after the last charge, 6 hours is not enough.

People have lives and jobs.  This insanity needs to end.  If I want a hobby that makes me get up in the middle of the night I’m taking up astronomy.

The faster solution is just higher boss health / sooner end time like B4T --- everyone seems happy with that. The 6 hour recharges make it a bit of a challenge, but at least we would know when it will end -- and can plan accordingly.

Here we go again. This is a waste of time. Whatever "solution" is adopted someone will always be unhappy. This is just a game people, it's not the end of the world if can't play every single match.

I did this exact thing last  night. I had a perfect score and had to take the point loss because I did not want to wake up in the middle of the night to play.
Also, I agree with Mburn7 about the events. It is a game, however, I want to maximize my points for myself and my team if I am able.

A possible solution could be to set these events up similar to Across Ixalan. There is a maximum point total that can be achieved; however not all nodes and charges need to be played to get all the points.

I’d like to add my voice to this as well. I was in the same boat as the previous post... perfect score until I had to go to bed. I would prefer a fixed end time also (or I also like the idea of having 12 hours after the boss is dead to clear charges).

I'm genuinely curious how anyone would be upset if, after the final charge came in, you had 12 hours before the event ended. What does that do to anyone that would be upsetting?

Just because some people will always be unhappy does not preclude taking efforts to minimize the number of people who will be unhappy. Especially if there is already precedent.

    Harm minimisation, not perfection.

I would be the happiest if they would give us all the charges upfront, that would really be an improvement for me... Just play your nodes whenever it suits you not having to do weird stuff like sneaking at work to play a mobile game... im down to this!

I said this in their recent survey

I too would like to get all the charges up front. However, I don't see this happening, as it would require fewer logins compared to the current solution.
Giving us more time to clear out any remaining charges after the final blow, sounds like a good alternative fix to me.

I think I'm the minority, because I don't want this.

Part of the strategy of being a top player is playing all charges -- and being available to do so. I would, however like to see a once a day charge where we get 3 charges every 24 hours and if there are remaining charges when those drop, one gets taken away or something like that.

I don't, however think all charges at once would be good for the game unless our events ran like Marvel and we were simply racing the clock as a coalition. Right now it's better to have a system where players have to log in each day.

I know that I, personally, have trouble trying to time everything in my life. With all charges at once I'd be under the _illusion_ that I could let things slip a little and catch up later and I would wind up with 10 games to play in the final hour and it would be my own fault theoretically but it would lead to disillusionment and after a while giving up on the game.

I know for certain that I left Fateful Showdown because "This isn't time sensitive, I can do this later..." and then suddenly it was _past_ later and I had 2 hours to do the whole thing.

12 hours at the end to wrap things up, that helps me but also people with different problems to mine.

Bianca's idea of dropping more than one charge at once might work too.

With Coalition events, it helps to know how people are doing bit by bit throughout it, you can chase people up and go "Are you having trouble? Are you busy?" and help. But if people can do every single charge at the last minute then you can never tell the difference between someone who isn't playing and someone that will get a perfect score at the very end, and you really need to be able to tell the difference...

Honestly, any change to what's currently happening would be most welcome. Coalition events that end at 4:30 AM are not cool.

I propose the following simple fix to B4T (if actually reasonably fixing the last-charge issue is too hard):

    - 12 hour recharge time
    - Last charge is refreshed 48 hours after the start, giving a total of 2 + 48/12 = 6 charges (2 full rounds)
    - "Infinite" boss health

This way, we won't have as much "work" (it was too much of a grind the last time), there's more flexibility, and noone gets hurt by the last charge being in the middle of night.

I feel like 3 charges every 24 hours, or even 4 charges would be ideal. The problem with coordinating end times of events is that we're all over the place. Half of my coalition lives on the other side of the world from me . The pragmatic solution would be to tailor events to the region with the greatest representation . But I  think giving the charges for the day at the beginning of a 24 hour cycle and then ending the event 12 hours after the last charge should, in theory, be a win for everybody. I agree that all charges up front would be bad. I'd blast through all of my charges during an insomnia spell and be bored and unengaged if that were the case.

Not if there were some form of QB to otherwise engage you ;P

So then why limit the charges in the first place? Just leave a non-upper boundary to charges and slowly start giving them. Sure, this does not solve the end event problem (the only solution to this is delaying the event until it is acceptable to all timezones to finish since the last recharge).

Unless this is implemented, I fear burst charges would cause other issues. Right now I schedule MTGPQ time so that I don't go full and if I am busy I have to run only a full round, knowing I will be able to catch up later. HoD has the misfortune of staring at 5 charges which I know many people like because they get to play a lot more to begin with... Hence as long as I get my window to start consuming them I'm fine.

I mention this only because any change done can cause issues from another angle.

So when the last refresh occurs in PvP, we usually have a 6 hour window before the event ends. Technically all that needs to be done is make it so that the "6 hour window" is increased to 24 hours without any new refreshes/charges. This will allow all people in all time zones to finish their nodes on equal terms.

As for PvE.. not sure. All I know is that God-pharaoh felt relaxing in comparison to BoFT. And this is coming from a player who thought God-pharaoh was a GRIND. Thus, what I know for sure is that BoFT is going to be a SUPER grind fest after some time passes. This is a hint that the game is just really time consuming...

Sorry didn't read all the other comments, don't have enough time to play MTGPQ, not gonna have much time to read everyone on the forums.
