Chandra, Bold Pyromancer

So with Chandra being among the Dominaria Planeswalkers, I assume we can expect her to finally get a 3rd iteration in PQ with this release. Having said that, Bold Pyromancer is nearly identical to Roaring Flame with only some very slight increases in damage for her abilities.
Now I know they certainly don't always keep even remotely close to the printed abilities of Planeswalkers they've added (Chandra 2 for example), but I went and did some thinking about how they could make Chandra 3 actually viable for the long term for people who like to run mono red and not be Koth.
Chandra, Bold Pyromancer
Loyalty Ability 1 - Actually use her first ability from Bold Pyromancer.

Chandra, Bold Pyromancer
Loyalty Ability 1 - Actually use her first ability from Bold Pyromancer.
- Add . Chandra, Bold Pyromancer deals 2 damage to target player.
- So here, it could convert X gems to red and deal damage to the opponent.
Loyalty Ability 2 - Take her first ability from Chandra, Flamecaller
- Create two 3/1 red Elemental creature tokens with haste. Exile them at the beginning of the next end step.
- In this case, the elemental could increase in power/toughness, you could increase the number it creates, or you could remove the exile aspect at rank 4.
Loyalty Ability 3 - User her second ability from Chandra, the Firebrand
This would result in a viable and unique Chandra. Her abilities wouldn't be tied to specific expansion or tribal type. They wouldn't be just "I deal direct damage" either. Give us something here.
Thoughts?
- When you cast your next instant or sorcery spell this turn, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.
- In this case, create a support with x shields and "When you cast a spell, that spell is returned to your hand and it's mana cost is reduced to 0. This support loses 1 shield" and increase the number of shields on the support as you level the ability.
- Somehow prevent it from looping the first spell. Make it so you can only duplicate each spell cast once per turn. I don't know how to work that part in.

That sounds interesting indeed! For the last ability, maybe make it only copy spells that cost more than zero? HUF doesn't need the help anyways. Pyromancer's Goggles probably don't need the help either, but it would be disappointing for them not to work with Chandra the Pyro herself…

Unfortunately Chandra isn't actually in the set. She's part of DOM for paper standard purposes but she's only in one of the Planeswalker decks that are a supplementary product. We've seen quite a few of these over the past two years and none of them have ever been translated into PQ. We will be getting a new mono red pw though, Jaya Ballard:

I'm aware of this and I just don't expect we won't get a Chandra 3.0

Two mono red pws in one set cycle would be really weird. People are excited about jaya and Chandra elicits groans from the majority of us .Especially after Chandra 2. My guess is jaya and she's gonna be a beast.1

With that in mind, it’s not impossible that we will see a third Chandra in addition to Jaya, Karn, and Teferi if D3 wants to capitalize on that to try and make more money.1 -
I think it will be Chandra Boring Pyromancer.
Just like the other two0 -

Rivals had a mono black Vraska with planeswalker deck and there was no "better version" of mono black Vraska for the packs. They skipped the Scheming Gorgon.
There is no reason for them to introduce a redundant mono red chandra PW who is not even in the main set, when Jaya exists.
Especially with the current abundance of multicolored PWs, mono colored PWs aren't all that...1 -

Especially with the current abundance of multicolored PWs, mono colored PWs aren't all that...Also it would have meant two of the same named planeswalker being released back to back whereas in this case Chandra does exist in the story of the set and in the art and story, just she only got a card in the planeswalker deck as opposed to getting a second one in the main set too, and that makes sense. They wouldn't want to use up both red mythic rare slots with planeswalkers, and Jaya is more heavily anticipated as she's never had a planeswalker card before.Chandra in the art on a card for reference:0 -
PW deck Vraska was in rivals subset whereas the dual colored one was in ixalan.
Anyway, since they have never released a PW deck plansewalker before there is no reason to believe that they'd do so now. And we don't need another mono red chandra.0 -
