If using this on Star Lord with a full team of Guardians, is it two chances to gain 3 AP each, or one chance to gain 6 AP?

It's one chance to gain 9 AP, all of the same color - since Star Lord counts in the total.
I often use level 50 Element Guns with the Awesome Mix Volume 2 team of Star Lord, Gamora & Rocket, and frequently (36.8%) find myself starting with 9 AP of one color.
