Embalming creatures that haven't died [Solved]

In my RtO match today my opponent embalmed an honored hydra on the third turn before anything had been discarded or destroyed. He continued to embalm one or more creatures every turn even though nothing was going to graveyards. He also eternalized dreamstealers that weren't in the graveyard. Planewalker was Vraska (If the cards involved didn't make that clear). I have screenshots of the battle logs if that matters.

    Did he use Gather the Pack or Growing Rites of Itlimoc?

    You are right. I didn't notice while playing but when I reviewed my screen shots I do see gather the pack played right after  his first turn hard cast hydra >.<. 

    So this isn't a glitch it's just my mistake.
