I find it frustrating that instead of adding a skill to a character (Draken) the development team creates a whole new character instead (3* Draken). The reason I find this frustrating is because I happen to like Loki. I spend time collecting Loki covers and dump iso into him. Once the development team decides to grant him a third ability, I fear that they will just create another version of him. Creating another version (or Lazy as some say) renders the original next to useless. I suppose I understand that they wanted to make Draken a 3* character for one reason or another, but is that where it will stop? With both 2* Thor and 2* Captain America characters becoming 3* Gold characters there is no reason to push their 2* versions further. I also have a hard time understanding how they are picking characters to make stronger duplicates of. 2* Thor and Draken are/were already being used by a large percentage of the players. On top for that, making Thor a 3* just about destroyed any reason to use Hulk. 3* Thor's life is nearly the same and he has very good skills (Hulk is really only good at taking hits, not giving them).

It will be disappointing for all the people who have leveled Rags or Loki just to be told "we made them stronger, but you have to start from scratch". That's my rant.

P.S. I love the the game and applaud the developers, I'm just a concerned gamer.

Usage metrics probably. Thor was always one of the most used 2*s, and even though he sucked, IceIX said that a lot of people used cap as well. The main reason we probably don't have a gold amazing wolvie and OBW are patch and GSW

I suppose that makes sense. Instead of recreating a Thor, Draken, or Captain America, they just boost them up to Gold status. I just hope they don't do that with the already 3* characters (I can only think of Rags and Loki, both of which do need a third ability at some point).

The popularity of 2* Thor, Mr. Rogers, & Drakkar Noir is exactly why they were aurified.

People want to keep playing the characters they like at higher levels. 2* Thor, Drake, and Cap were already useless once you truly transitioned to 3* characters, so I don't really see the "explicit obsolescence" argument. There's actually not much usage overlap between 2* and 3* versions, esp. since 3* Rogers significantly improved 2* Cap's basic ability mechanics.

The three Gold characters were a bit of an experiment, and designed essentially as a package. 3* Storm seems to be the next "upgrade" character, but in the meantime, they've released Torch, Falcon, and Fury, and plan to release She-Hulk and Sentry.

P.S. - I sometimes use LThor with Hulk for funsies: L141 Hulk is still a massive meat shield, tanks green for L141 LThor, and barfs more green when people hit him.

Akihiro is the name. Daken is a code name.
