Grovetender druids bug

Sooo, I was playing that Innistrad event today and encountered a very interesting deck built specifically to take advantage of the bug. The thing is, there was a card in Zendikar, it was called Grovetender Druids, and it has Rally: Create a 1\1 plant token. With the arrival of Ixalan however, it somehow summons 0\2 plant with defender and prevent damage.
Logically enough, my opponent's deck was just a couple wolves to get bonus points, Grovetender, and a bunch of equipment.
Luckily, I won that game thanks to Silverfur Partisan and Stratus Walk, but I had a very strong feeling that I was being scummed...

Not every deck has answers to prevent damage berserking creature. At least if you dont have scour from existence.

I posted in the bugs thread a few weeks ago about this. Ran into this same problem in an event.
