5 cards booster with 5 common cards?

Just opened my very first 5 cards booster (ixl) with 5 common cards. Is this the new "normal"? I am playing since the dawn of time and never had that before. Anyone?

What's funny is that even it does happen from time to time, I still don't have all commons in IXA. So I welcome those all-commons boosters. Anyway, at one point you will have all of commons, so just take the orbs and relax.

I’ve gotten a whole pack of uncommons multiple times. How many rares or mythics have you gotten in one pack of ixa? I had 2 rares in one pack multiple times. Mythics only 1 in a pack ever. The luckiest I’ve ever gotten was opening the free booster. It was during the SOI block and in one day. I received drowner then 2 hours later I cracked a thopter spy network.

Yes, having this possibility is the new normal.  Prior to version 2.4, if the first four cards in a pack were common and 5th card would also be, the 5th card was rerolled so you would never get 5 commons in a pack.  That feature was removed in 2.4, so now when randomness deals you 5 commons, that's what you get.

Where are you getting this info from?  I don't remember seeing it posted.  With the drop rate percentages that are posted it is theoretically possible on some packs, but incredibly unlikely.  I wouldn't call it a "new normal", my average seems to be the same 3 common and 2 uncommon it has always been

I’ve most definitely pulled 5 commons Ixalan packs.  It still doesn’t seem to happen for older sets.  Just checked, RIX gives 5 common packs too.

It happens. I don't think it's anything new, but I'm in the minority and don't really care enough to wrack my brain over something that won't go anywhere. This, incidentally, is why I don't buy things in this game often . Once you get about a third of the cards , you're just asking to be disappointed by opening packs. I'm still missing something like 19 ixalan uncommons , 20 rares and almost all of the mythics . Haven't gotten a new card in weeks . The odds aren't with us . That's not going to change.

Got those **** packs as well. On the other hand, I get the same dupe of that Uncommon G/W enrage dino in nearly every pack. Can't track the number, but I pulled that little stompling 10+ times now.

It wasn't announced; it was worked out from pack opening data contributed by the community.

We looked at the pre-2.4 packs which gave only commons and uncommons (over 2000 of these were entered).  Given the relative drop rates of those rarities, if nothing special was going on you'd expect ~6.5% of those packs to have 5 commons.  But what we got was essentially nil:

The trend was already clear from about a year ago, and it continued all the way until 2.4 was released.

From 2.4 onwards, so far 5.4% of the recorded C/U-only packs have had 5 commons, which is close to the expected proportion.

@Volrak I stand corrected.  Sorry for doubting you lol.

A bit of healthy skepticism is not a bad thing. :)
