Dark avengers lineup

I understand that to follow the "story" we have to fight dark avengers all the time. So why are there so few of them?! If there are only like 5 or 6 characters in the main villain's lineup, release more dark avengers! There must be more bad guys in that story arc. One of the reasons the long duration story events get so tedious is that we basically fight the same 5 dudes over and over. Shift the priority away from heroes for a few months and give us some more variety in the dark avengers!

I don't have anything more to add other than I agree. Adding diversity couldn't hurt. Even if at first you only said Osborn used ISO-8 or something to turn some of the heroes evil for the event.

There was a black ops team that was with the dark avengers. Yelena was the leader for it and it had a bunch of characters you have never heard of. I wouldn't expect them anytime soon.
I agree they need a more diverse lineup of villains. They seem to have most of the major villains but most of those aren't in the DA.
I seem to remember an event where they had skrulls impersonating heroes and you had to fight the heroes. They should do a lot more of that or start adding a lot more villains and moving away from the Dark Avengers as the primary threat. Wheres Electro? Rhino? Mandarin? Sabretooth? etc

I agree - this is one of the things that is nice about Simulator. It's not another variation on that same boring song played on the same five keys.

Secret Invasion. Dark Reign is actually the aftermath of the Secret Invasion event.

I been begging more more villains. There are so few compared to the heroes.
Pretty sure we could have 2 different sets of hero lightning rounds at this point. Haven't even started a 2nd set on villains.

And yeah they do need to add more villains. Where is AIM, Hydra? They'll have to drop the whole Dark Reign bit sooner or later. Unless its a licensing issue and they are only allowed to use Dark Reign and nothing else.

Sentry, Captain Marvel, Iron Patriot. All founding members of the Avengers under Osborne, all as-of-yet unseen in MPQ. Sentry is on the way and I think the DA Captain Marvel jumped ship pretty early, but we need more villains.

Unfortunately Dark Reign has an extremely limited range of active 'bad guys' for them to select from.

Basically you have only the Dark Avengers, who are only lacking Osborne and the Sentry, and that's it.

Oh and the Cabal. Dark avengers and the Cabal, which is missing Emma Frost, Namor and Taskmaster.

So just teh Cabal and Dark Avengers. Oh yeah and teh Dark X-men. That adds Mystique, Mimic, Cloak, Dagger, Omega Red and Dark Beast to the list.

But that's the lot then. Well apart from the Thunderbolts. Bullseye, Penance, Radioactive Man, Songbird and Swordsman. Oh and they had a roster revamp halfway through, so add Ghost, Paladin, Headsman, Antman, Grizzly and Scourge to that list. And Doc Samson was their therapist so he goes on too.

So that's the lot. Oh except for the Initiative. Which gives you about 10 more B graders.

And while all that was going on the Red Skull was busy being resurrected in Cap America's body. So there's Skull and his merry men and even 4*Cap Skull variant to work with.

TLDR: It's not their fault, there are so few villains around that they have to ration them.

The important point is now the DAs we fight are also characters we can play and get through tokens. This is not really necessary. More DAs could be added like the goons that are only opponents.

We could also have more types of goons.

I'm really hoping that 3* Daken shows up in the main after we complete the tower. Even seeing him would be a nice variant from the current lineup.

The heroics do tend to have the most boring of enemy lineups just b/c the villains are restricted to the established prologue storyline. We did see Ares and Moonstone get incorporated into the PvE (and replaced the even more repetitive lineups we saw prior to that). So there is hope that when they add new villains (and heroes), they get disseminated through the older content. I just wouldn't expect things to break wide open and have Sim-style events for the prologue-based heroics.

I don't know if I'm more impressed with your extensive Marvel knowledge or your mastery of sarcasm. I'm curious now though, since you're so familiar with the material... What villains are you MOST interested in seeing D3 add first?

Being an angry comics nerd is like a superpower. At least that's what I tell the ladies.

...No it doesn't convince them either.

Anyway, I would have liked to see them take any one of the listed teams and dump 5-6 characters in at once. Then you can run events with say DA opponents or Thunderbolts opponents, or even big hybrid events. But it would get you away from the same old. I do perfer the Cabal characters, as they are more A list and iconic, but I don;t think you can do a mass dump of Osborne, Emma, Namor and Taskmaster. They need to be slowly luxuriously served out. BUt you can drop a greasy spoonful of Penance, Swordsman and Bullseye whenever.

Except that hopefully they don't give us another Bullseye. I mean, unless Thunderbolts Bullseye is way more playable and interesting than Dark Avengers Bullseye. Waaaay more playable and interesting.

Just having read through some of the da comics sentry is definitely a good addition and he seems to be in the queue. Noh-Varr would be interesting use him as a da and as a hero depending on the point in the storyline.

I haven't read the storyline, but I think Harry Osborne could.be a good 4* counter to Nick Fury and a grand prize for Season 2 - but, please, no hurry on that!

I'm re-reading the DA cross-overs just now.

Spoiler Alert!

Iron Man had Madame Masque and Ghost as villains - either would be a good add. I like the idea of Ghost - his phasing power could be fun. For example, a counter to IWs invisible power or M Hawkeye's Dodge, where Ghost "phases" through the characters in front to hit the character at the back.

Also, 'Rescue', Pepper Potts "Iron Woman" mk1616 would be a better addition than another IM.

War Machine had Ultimo - not sure Ultimo would be a good add, but he's another option. A power that could take over a character in your roster for a turn and deal damage to those around him / her could be an interesting add.

Lots of ways to mix the game up. I'm going to keep reading and remind myself who else was in there!

Personally, I'm unsure as to why D3 is so wedded to only DA stuff anyways. Yes, it's the game title (why, I'm not sure), but so what? It's a Marvel game, there can be other Marvel stuff.
