hope you did because it seems that is what most of what rix has, i am not agaisnt them but the rest seem to be also rans, (pirates thenvimpires and dead last of course merfolk), so looks like jace the cunning is going to be pretty much left in the lurch and another i  will get him when i have ever other pw. hope i missed some important cards but let me know if there is hope.

Actually, my merfolk were pretty weak with just XLN but got a boost with RIX (I pulled that mythic one), so I'm okay with it... :)

Merfolk finally work quite nicely, though the "buffing" mechanic they were meant to have doesn't really exist, there are lots of things to buff but nothing uses it.
Vampires seem to work too, but only played with it a little so far.

Honestly..... I'm not sure I agree.

I've found merfolk to be pretty viable, though I did pull Kopala and Kumena both which definitely helps merfolk out. Dinos seem okay, but there's not a planeswalker able to utilize them to full potential. Pirates for me have been crazy powerful. Really in my opinion, vampires are the one that's suffered. Too many of their mechanics require them to be reinforced twice before they start doing anything, and getting them that high is pretty difficult for the payoff even if creature removal weren't as easy as it is. Apart from Legion Conquistador, activating many of them means you had to actually draw three of them before they activate. Forerunner of the Legion will likely be mandatory in every vampire deck to make them even slightly viable. And even then, it still doesn't work since you then lack creature slots for it, Legion Conquistador and the 1/1 tokens....

Merfolk actually work better in practice than I expected. You can get a nice little army of decent critters out there for cheap, and Harbinger of  Tides is a perennial all star.

I was on the fence about dinosaurs, but this new set tipped me into the "like".  I do like dinosaurs, and their new enrage animation...It's very possible that the "claw" animation effect was there before and I hadn't noticed it.  I especially like that green elder guy who ends up being free when I have enough big beefy beasts on the board.  Ajiani II helps with that.

meant mostly dinosaurs seems to have a large part of the gold and mythics while rest just have a few thrown in (well just to keep them happy) sort of feel

Ahhhhhh well there are a lot of rare and mythic dinosaurs in the paper set, so that makes sense, however I do see your point. I can see a few of the pirates, merfolk, and vampires that were omitted, but should have been easy includes.

that is what i was trying to say really. i didnt word it well originally i guess.  the biggest point is seems jace the cunning was forgotten pretty much altogether.

Well I finished out strong after switching to cycling/HUF decks 220/270 ending ribbons. Pirates seem to be the only comptetitive tribe atm. I think once they fix a few bugged cards, Merfolk and Vamps could get better (Elenda and Tishana being bugged hurts them). Dinos will find a few fringe decks like Ghalta ramp decks, etc.

A big part of this, as someone said above, is because the paper set had a lot of rare and mythic dinosaur cards. The reason paper had so many is because players have been asking for years to have a set with dinosaurs in them so they wanted to make a lot of dinosaur cards in these two sets.

I haven’t yet either, but I feel like mostly Kopala just made it harder to kill them since it makes all those kill spells that aren’t Trial of Ambition cost more. But given how the AI was cascading like crazy, it was hardly a deterrent.
