AI Using Legion's Judgment on its Own Creatures

So I just had a match where the AI used Legion's Judgment to destroy its own creature—Adorned Pouncer. Pouncer had been buffed twice so its base power was 7.  The AI did this when I had no creatures on the board which I found funny. Even more amusing, however, was later during the same match it did it again, against the same creature which had come back on the board using Eternalize! And to top it all off, this time I had an 8/8 creature on the board, so it couldn't have made less sense.

I'm going to let a few more weigh in, but in my experience, this isn't a bug. Many kill  spells can be cast on your own creatures, if opponent (you) doesn't have a creature on the board, Greg will cast on himself. The spell is designed to work either way and he will generally cast most spells immediately.

I call this one as intended.

I though the ai only cast kill spells on its own creatures when there was an added bonus to be gained.
Like casting Skywhalers Shot to kill it's own creature and drawing a card.

It's not about the added bonus, as far asa we can reverse engineer from the behaviour there is a simple "friend/enemy" target option on most spells and some of it have it set wrong.
Skywhaler was one, Lilliana's something or other too, Legion's Judgement is probabaly a new exmple.

Theoretically it's just a database fix for each of the cards, no coding, but you never ever know for sure!

it would be good to have a definitive list though.

There are also examples the other way, where they buff yours for no reason, but people complain about them less so I can't remember examples.

The general rule is if I can kill my own creatures or buff AIs, then Greg can as well. Will have to test tomorrow

It's not that the card is bugged; the card worked fine in the case I described. It's that the AI is bugged when using that card if it elects to destroy its own creature rather than its opponent's creature (or if the opponent has no creature), when there is nothing to be gained by doing so.

I can verify I have seen the AI kill his own creatures when I had a large 32/32 drake from Drake Haven it could have killed. Dont get me wrong, I am glad the AI didnt kill may creature so I could win, but still, I thought it was funny. If he would have killed my creature, he would have won the very next turn.

I don't think the AI is bugged, I think it isn't intelligent enough.

I’ve been in these situations, too. No complaining, but it seems like something that should generally come out in a few rounds of testing.

casting spells like Skywhaler's Shot or Liliana's Defeat (or in this case, Legion's Judgment) is a bug with the card implementation.

@Brigby this one is a good example for the team to learn for implementing cards with a target - tell them to look at the target resolver for To The Slaughter or Imprisoned in the Moon and then compare that value with the three cards listed here.

You can add chandra's defeat to the list. Greg cast this preferred on it's own creatures
