Striped Riverwinder killed although hexproof

At least two separate times in two separate battles I had Striped Riverwinder in game and it was killed by a black kill-spell. The spell was always the same: Unholy Hunger. As far as I understand, Unholy Hunger shouldn't do anything to Striped Riverwinder because it specifically says "Destroy target creature".
Am I understanding something wrong or is one of those cards broken?

    Was the card disabled by any effect? Disabled hexproof creatures can be targeted by spells

    Not as far as I remember. Greg killed my other creature (sceada) one round prior, but nothing else stuck as important.
