Blog Expectations

@Brigby I have a few questions about the Oktagon blog that you gave us a spoiler for last week.

1. When should we expect the first post?  I won't hold you too it, but would just like to get an idea.
2.  Will all of the blog content get posted before the Ixalan release scheduled for next week?
3.  Will this be an ongoing thing or a 1 off "mini-blog" based on a generous developer giving tons of information.

Thanks!

Even if they wrote it in Portuguese it shouldn’t be that hard to format?

    1) I just posted the first chapter! Check it out HERE
    2) Yes. We plan on releasing a chapter a day, over the course of the next several days, and they should all be posted, prior to the set's implementation next week.
    3) When it comes to this blog mini-series, I would speculate this kind of formatting is a one-time thing, due to the unique circumstance that delayed the set. Having said that though, it's plausible that we might try to provide upcoming set details in other ways, however as of right now, I don't have any available information about future plans.

I hope you don't build up the hype nearly as much for upcoming sets - I understand this is a one off unique circumstances, but please learn from it. this period was not healthy for the game or the community and shouldn't be repeated.

This wasn’t entirely something that could be helped considering development was stalled out due to changing companies. It’s bad for the game, yes. But it’s also not as though it was planned.

Also expect this might happen happen every year now that core sets are back and are generally close to 100% reprints.

Much of the lengthy hype period was due to Booster crafting taking precendent. Doubtful we'll have something similar in the future. Should be like regular releases at that point. ... i hope

And if Ixalan was released first we would be dealing with an even longer hype period for Booster Crafting. This is just how the switch went, they inherited a handful of partial content, unfulfilled promises, and bugs and they had to prioritize what they took care of first. We are still in a transition period following the long Post-Hibernum period and leading into the true Oktagon age once they have tied everything up nicely. So far, I  would say they have been spot on, considering, and I am looking forward to what happens when they actually have time to express themselves without playing catch-up. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. Either way there was going to a long hype period for either BC or IXN regardless of order in which they might have been released. For exactly the reasons you mentioned above. Oktagon has done a fantastic job so far. In due time they will manage to catch up with set releases and periods inbetween sets should be standard. Although with the changes in set releases by WotC ... It will be an interesting year how all this will work out
