Triple Dupe Ornithopter, what are the odds for that?

So, a few rotations ago, the first time I went for it in this 400 purple pack rotation, actualy not owning any MP/mythic from it, I got a Ornithopter. Ok, **** happens...



After that, this was the only MP/mythic card I have from this pack. (2 more missing mythics on next page)
Now, a few days ago, this rotation comes along again, and so again I try it. What do I get? A DUPE ORNITHOPTER. 
I was already mad, but then...
yesterday, I go for it again, even bought an exclusive offer to get the extra 160 purples. What do I get?
ANOTHER ORNITHOPTER!!! 
On a 13/14 chance to get another card, I get Ornithopter TWICE, making it THREE.

I pulled 2 Chrome moxes back to back from the Elite Pack.
Just remember, you should've pulled 3 of Rishkar so you are very fortunate

...and Ornithopter is a pretty A-OK masterpiece...  I'd use it in those "Kill 3 enemy creatures" and "take 15 or less damage" events where you need a good blocker to deal with haste / hexproof...

Wait .... you're upset because you got 5000 orbs? 

 I pulled a dupe back to back in elite packs last April. One 400 jewel pack and one 160 jewel pack ... Demon of Dark Schemes. Luckily I just started saving dupes by then.  

A side note: never ever buy 160 jewel packs. It is one of the worst ROI in MTGPQ.

Chances of pulling a masterpiece are slim, so you should feel lucky. Chances of pulling two masterpieces in a row are ridiculous, you should celebrate (even the 5000 orbs are great for just 400 pink). Chances of pulling three masterpieces in a row are astronomical, again you should very much celebrate. Look what you got for 1200 pink: a very good and always playable masterpiece and 10000 orbs. Congratulations! I would take that in a heartbeat no questions asked.

Well at least you pulled a masterpiece. I encountered the exact same situation with Exquisite Archangel. And I never pulled a masterpiece from my numerous purple pack. So bad luck with your dupe but anyway, it could be worse.

I am just baffled by the fact there's so many other cards i could get, but instead get 3 ornithopter in a row.
I am NOT saying that it's a bad card or that I am not lucky to pull MP's.

I am going to quote myself from well over a year ago:

"I think the RNG in this game is not functioning properly as evidenced by several reports of getting multiple copies of the same dupe in the same few packs or during the game getting 3+ in a row of the same card. These both happen way Way WAY too often to be a true RNG. Also getting the same card 2+ times in the same pack is unacceptable.
I am certain the last card you got has a direct influence on the next one (especially with event rewards).
It really sucks getting 3x of the same dupe rare, and in game it can cost you the match."

I forget who it was that posted the evidence that cards are weighted within rariry. Pretty sure it was Volrak.

That's amazing. Hopefully that doesn't happen to me. I just used my first few purples to open a 100 pack just for the heck of it and got the sword white/red one. My only other masterpiece is Loyal Retainers and that's because of my binge in trying to get gods in amonkhet.

Those 2 dupe mps got you enough orbs for 2 guaranteed new mythics .I'm not really seeing the problem. Plus Murphy's law seems to apply double to elite packs. If you can get a dupe, you will.

I just joined the Dupe Ornithopter club, with that being the only MP from this pack that I own. so yeah thats very likely not a coincidence, and the cards are not weighted equally.
