Exactly as the topic says. I'd love to be able to message people in game who are not part of my alliance or these boards.

  • would add to the game but would open up a lot of doors which I don't think d3 want to get tickets for
  • I agree, it's a terrible idea. There's enough vitriol in these moderated forums, what on earth would go on in unmoderated open messaging in the game?

I suspect Customer Support would get swamped and their turn-around time on issues would plummet even further. icon_e_smile.gif

While I wouldn't go as far as to say 'terrible', I do think it opens a lot of opportunity for abuse. I like how Hearthstone decided to do away with it almost completely.

I think a global chat would work better. Easier to moderate and squelch troublesome users.

I've played on a few F2P mobile games that had one and it wasn't as bad as you would think. But it wasn't perfect, either. icon_e_wink.gif

That might be a really effective way to get me to stop playing this game altogether, or at least PVP. There's probably teenagers playing this game, and much of my life is oriented around interacting with them as little as possible.

They could add a block function. I'm not saying it should be exactly the same as the alliance chat, which is still very lacking, but it could be done and done easily enough with enough controls to make it stand alone without need for moderator oversight.
