His green and purple are not too bad, actually. But there is quite an easy way to fix his yellow. He creates 6 protect tiles and then does a certain amount of damage per protect tile without removing the protect tiles. It is the removing of the protect tiles (and the limitation of having 7 protect tiles on the board before he can even do damage) that make him a broken character that NO ONE will use. Fix his yellow like this and he will be rather similar in feel to 4 Thor, only using protect tiles instead of charged tiles.

    Pair him with Falcon3
    Or
    Blad3 and wasp
    Blades passive plus 5 yellow from wasp and....

    His purple also needs to put all of the yellow tiles to the bottom 2-3 rows. Like “quicksand”......

    If you're going to pair him with a 3*, probably better to use Cag3 so you just have that one shield out passive already, rather than having to get a bunch of purple for falcon to create them before getting a bunch of yellow for Sandman to use them. The way that shield power resolves, it first creates the 6 shields, THEN checks to see if there are 7 of them out. So you can just have it do damage on a single cast that way.

    You could use him to throw down shields for Captain Falcon maybe, since his shield-based attack actually does more damage per shield, and Sam can only put shields down on Yellow, which you would have been matching away to fire off that power in the first place.
