What happens if we don't finish off the boss before the time runs out?

    It ends automatically, based on previous events. I think on Tuesday?

    Just saw a timer on the event. Says it ends 18 hours from now.

    It’s nearly over just 1 more charge to go, they clearly increased Avacyn’s Health as we killed her really fast last time

    Yes from 2 mil to 4 mil...next time maybe 3?

    I don't mind her having a lot of health (as long as it's possible to defeat her if you work for it), I'd just hate to see her like some boss battles were in previous events, defeated in the first day or two an you only had a chance to play each node round once

    I honestly don't even care if the boss doesn't "die" even if it's impossible to defeat the boss. Personally I think the boss HP thing is a stupid mechanic that ends up cutting people out of basic progression if they struggle on certain nodes or aren't far enough along in the game to be able to even attempt the final one.

    Just run the event for a set period of time and be done with it. The boss HP thing is something that they keep stumbling over as it's often either too much health, and people complain they didn't get to kill it, or too little and the boss just melts, sometimes even before basic progression for anyone at all is even possible (I remember this being an issue back during Aether Revolt where no one was able to earn Baral's Expertise, so they had to run the event all over again)

    Wish they could add where you see how much damage you do to the boss everytime you defeat a opponent

    Isn't it by how much health the opponent has? I thought all the damage you do each battle goes straight to the boss.

    The "damage" you do is equal to the number of ribbons you earn.

    That's a fair point.  I always wondered if there was an actual difference in rewards if you did actually manage to kill the boss.  If there isn't, then (at times when the boss HP was too weak) some players in a coalition were able to kill it before others were able to fully participate, which isn't really fair.

    Honestly if there isn't a difference though I don't see why people care in the first place if they were able to defeat her or not, I could see maybe being your first Avacyn's Madness you'd be like "well, darn," and move on to other events.

    But also if there isn't any difference I don't see why they don't just make it a timed event, unless that's what giving her an insurmountable amount of hp was supposed to be doing, then in that case I'd say keep it as is...Octagon has more important things to be working on right now (Ixalan) than working on reformatting an old event that -frankly- I'm just glad they let us have access to again.

    The rewards don’t change based off if the boss dies or not. At least not so far as I’ve ever seen.

    Yeah, so in that case they probably just increased Avacyn's health to impossible so it would function like a normal event without them having to actually reformat the event, which would take time away from Ixalan.  I'm okay with this. :)
