HUF > Omni

Last weekend I finally pulled HUF from a premium pack (after 5 months of not pulling it as an event reward), and I can officially say it is one of the most broken cards I have ever seen in this game.

Here are some of the things I've done:

-- Completed all 7 charges of Holiday Showdown in 22 minutes -- including 2 turn 2 wins (Battle Log turn 3).

-- Whirred out more Omnis than I ever thought possible.

-- Cast a deploy where the creatures totaled over 100 in one turn.

-- Beat Bolas in under 4 minutes with all objectives.

I know that many feel that Omni is the most broken card in this set, but I have had it since the first weeks of HOU, and I have achieved less with it in event play than I have with HUF in one week.

I'm not calling for a nerf -- because as you all know, I LOVE broken, unbalanced calls -- I'm calling for ideas on how I can break it further -- show me your HUF magic!!!

HUF, Lost Legacy and Lord of Extinction.
    (Bolas)

56/56 LoE on BL turn 5 — cost 0 to cast.

    So ridiculous

My recent Samut build uses HUF in tandem with Gather the Pack & Rishkar's  Expertise. I have Beetle for additional mana from graveyard effects and Manticore (rares) to deal double damage as it kills off the first other creature; often a huge Scrapheap.

It loops very well and has often killed a PW that was at full health with one trigger of HUF to begin the damage loop.

I honestly think HUF is way more broken than omniscience is for the single reason that omniscience needs a deck to work with while HUF only needs a broken spell to give its full potential.
Let's say that HUF is an omniscience effect in a short term. Particularly when it's used with deploy the gatewatch.

Omniscience is the most powerful card in standard which the format that matters most. I personally experienced many losses to it. Omniscience makes objectives/wins in standard easier if not brain dead.
Standard was intended to shy away from powerful cards. But cards like omniscience, Riskar's Expertise and hour of devastation to some extent are making standard too frustrating. D3 let the Riskar's Expertise slide for release despite obvious brokenness. Torrential Gearhulk on the other hand was nerfed to uselessness before release. Baral was adjusted but his interaction with omni, rishkar... can pilot a deck for long loops.

HUF, it is not powerful in standard  compared Omniscience.
HUF is powerful in proportion to associated spells  and standards lacks such spells except for Riskar, Omni, hour of devastation and Hour of promise.

Spells withing legacy are much more powerful than that in standard which should be expected. Remorseless punishment for instance is actually more  devastating than hour of devastation or Approach of the second sun whith HUF in leagcy.

Omni, rishkar, huf and others are powerful but I dont want them nerfed. Dev do not play as much as players do and are not that connected to the community.
Users on forums can give them the wrong impression. Back then, a complaint about Kiora from a single user on forums had her nerfed withing two weeks. The uproar from the Kiora nerf was epic and D3 had to revert some of the changes. The dev have mistakenly taken the comment/opinion  from one user as representative of whole community.

Most of my HUF decks are Standard — with the exception of a bit of DtG craziness for HS — they are all faster and more powerful than any of my Standard Omni decks.

There are plenty of examples to make azoreth fury ridiculously strong in standard... HUF + second sun, hazoreth + hour of destruction are the first ones that come to my mind but I can also imagine that hazoreth + whirl + omniscience would do more or less the same job than HUF + deploy but works in standard.
The point is, HUF is broken in standard too.

I think the topic was just to give a point of view around the card... Nothing more, nothing less...

i like this post. I think Huf is an amazing card, that goes well with any really expensive spell. Or in general as i wrote in some other threads, i dont mind filling my hand with removals or direct damage spells. The possibility to Have Huf in multicolored makes it even stronger. With Saheeli you can do crazy things if you also have Baral. With Nahiri or Aj1 you can Approach and deploy the **** out of your enemies. and with Samut...well in my opinion Huf really shines with a good Samut deck with all the ramp and uncages and whatnot. By itself i wouldnt consider it more broken the omniscence, as like in paper mtg, stand alone cards are much better then cards that require other cards to work well.
Overall i love Huf, and will put it in any deck i can :)

Took me a while to figure out what HUF was, damn the acronyms.
I've been abusing that card with Sarkhan for quite some time now.
Slow to start but once it gets going it gets pretty crazy, fast.
I'm running those little devils that make blockers, God Pharoah's Gift, Pyro Goggles, Volcanic Rambler, and Claim to Fame along with some other supports.  Haven't acquired Whir of Invention yet, that could help in a Bolas build.

    HuF
    Second sun
    Pyromancers goggles

The first  HUF deals 70 damage, the next kills all PvP targets, the third kills anything in the game.

Youre welcome. Just make sure not to have other spells in the deck ;)
