Did they nerf the awards for single covers?
I just noticed that the single gold covers you get do not appear to give a bonus chance to receive a special hero/villain. It appears you must now get a 10-pack or better to get an increased chance, which really sucks in my opinion. I rarely got useful covers when there was a bonus chance. Now I expect it will be virtually impossible. I think I was getting one 3-star cover about every 7-8 boosted gold covers. It seems the only way I will be able to get anything useful is if it is specific reward for an event. If things continue going as they are, I will not be playing this game much longer. I know they are in it to make money, but things are getting a bit extreme.

Are you referring to the LR gold tokens? If so, yes, that has been nerfed.0 -
I'm referring to all the gold tokens. They all state 2-star or better, no increased chance of anything. The two current ones are Top Gun and Lightning Offer, but I suspect it will be that way on all the future ones.0

If you click the Info [?] button, there's a table showing all the drop rates. Theme tokens still seem to have a slightly better chance of getting a featured character. But yeah, it doesn't say so anymore in the single tokens.0 -

They no longer have the type of packs where the 2* are fixed to the 3 or so featured guys though I'm not sure if that's actually good or bad.
There are a lot less packs that have only a single 3* as the 3*, which is generally slightly disadvantageous for the player who have no covers of the featured character.0 -
The packs have gone downhill rather drastically over the past few months. First they changed the Diabolical tokens so you only have a chance of getting a villain, not a guaranteed one, then they removed the 10 packs which contained a guaranteed Character in them. If the point of the change was to encourage people to buy tokens, they've gone the wrong way IMO. I've bought a few 10 packs in the past when I needed the guaranteed Character in them, but I certainly won't be doing it again. I'll simply wait and hope for a chance to win them from an event instead.0

So, I've just been going over the stats... and I know that the LR tokens have been nerfed, but it seems that now a LR token has only 0.4% higher chance on two featured 3* characters compared to the heroic token? and it costs 100HP more (200 without the daily deals)?
I understand nerfing the tokens to increase revenue from them (don't like it one bit, but understand it), but it seems that now the LR token are just a bad deal, period. Unless I'm missing something...?0 -

This has to be a Key Measure they are following. How to maximize the profits while limiting the reward structure. At some point they will see a decline that does not make financial sense and then bump back up to a rate of return that is perceived as worth it by the playerbase.
Until then, they will keep dropping the value... and rightfully so... They are in business to make a profit not make us happy. They will see where they can maximize their profits!0 -

Rightfully so? Now if you want a falcon cover, you could spend 3800 tokens and buy a 10 packs. That would give you less then 50% chances of pulling a Falcon cover, which is what you'd be looking for.
At this point, you might as well not spend any money on this game and just get your covers from pvp event rewards. I don't see how this change won't decrease the amount of cash people spend on this game rather then increase it.0 -

Rightfully so? This is a game. The most important thing should be making players happy. I'd be far more inclined to spend more money on something that makes me happy.
Spending money on the game seems like a chore now. I used to get major anticipation of what I would get. Now I have to spend just to compete. Huge difference.0 -

Cool.... i understand where you are coming from. I really do. I am in the same boat. The cost now outweighs the reward. And I understand the idea of make your customers happy. But really, they want to make the customers spend more money. They can't just give it to you because then their stream of income dries up.
i also find it funy that there is ZERO % benefit from choosing a 10 pack versus a 40 pack. Just 200hp you save on spending 4 times as much. 2 dollars off a large investment of money. But there are a lot of people that frequent casinos across the country and this is pretty much a pretty looking slot machine.
There are people in this world that don't care or have not figured out the changes to the % or haven't been around long enough to see a change to the pack % and they will happily continue to pull or have no idea of what it "used to be like" and will be happy to pull the lever.
So, while you may be wiling to stop spending money, you are not the majority. You or i guess, WE are the very vocal minority.
So do I want them to go back to the old ways on their cover tokens? yeah! Do i understand why they are reducing the %? yeah... i don't like it, but i understand.0 -

Honestly, I don't know what I want them to do. I still enjoy the game and play nonstop but it's far more of a robotic programed feeling rather then the unabashed joy I used to feel.
Conversely maybe some of us old school players got a bit of a free ride early in the game and have troubles letting that go.
I switched from War of Heroes to this and it was such a refreshing change from the brutal money grubbing game that MWOH became. I hate to be duped into the same thing again but I'm too stubborn to do anything about it except write useless information on a forum.0 -
I never played MWOH... but I can see where you are coming from. I think there is still a way to play this game without a huge money sink involved. I don't feel like this is a true P2W environment.
Sure health packs, boosts, and shields can be purchased to help you maintain rank/further push through, but they do give you a fair amount of their special currency throughout as rewards from events/dailies.

IMO that is what makes this game better than most F2P. I've played games where the only way to get premium currency is to buy it. The ability to win it, though it has changed in my time with the game (about 100 days), is still good enough that you can play without spending.
I also like the new system where you can see the drop percentage right in game. Before they added that who knew what the drop rates were.0
