I tried it with Prized Amalgam, Lilliana’s Oath, and Graf Harvest.  It was okay, but I don’t think it added much.

Like Giles said, seems like a lot of effort for a 14 mana card with so-so effect. My 3 Prized Amalgams were worth more than +1/+1 every turn. The decks themselves would work already without it.

My question is why is this card considered Legacy?

It's probably because it's not part of any of the sets defined as Standard.

Well that's the obvious reason. The question should have been "Why wasn't this just made a part of the current set for the purposes of PQ?" I understand it's part of the unset, but since that set doesn't exist within PQ, the card should have been bundled in with the current active set.

As is, it's just a card that'll collect dust purely based on the fact that it's not standard so it's not allowed in most of the current coalition based events; and, I personally hate Legacy events/decks.

They gave us (me) a paper weight for the holidays

    @Brakkis

I wouldn't even put it in my legacy decks.  Too many better cards out there for legacy.  It would have to be less than 10 cmc to be even worth considering.

But I suppose for new players who've yet to see a mythic, it could help turn their 2/2 zombie into a 3/3 lifelink deathtouch...might help clear a few of the intro rounds in story mode.

It's not anything I would use in any really competitive deck, but it does help for those objectives that require you to lose creatures along with Relentless Dead.

    That's a fair point.

I totally used this to meet the lose 4 or more creatures objectives in the non-coalition events. It’s fun and quirky and barely usable, a lot like Thopter Pie Network.

To be fair, Thopter Pie Network is the only mass damage card that blue has.  So while it may be fairly weak, it does still have a unique purpose (also it's a pretty swell card for noobs just starting too)

Except how would a noob ever get one?

It can be used to good effect. Potentially competitively as well (note that it can only be used in Legacy).

As I linked above, you can throw it in with a God-Pharaoh's Gift. Combine these two with a few creatures, one that's literally anything with impactful ETB effect. When you make matches, yes, it'll destroy that creature, and any others, while pumping your first. GPG then brings that creature back at the start of your next turn while triggering its ETB effect. This means you'll fire off that ETB every turn.

Take the following cards for example:

Tyrant of Valakut/Skysovereign - AOE damage to all opponent's creatures/opponent. Will eventually result in a full board wipe, regardless of hexproofed Gaea's Revenges
Heart of Kiran - Fabricate 4 every turn will provide protection for your crucial supports above while pumping your first creature - works great with defender/reach in the first slot
Aethertide Whale - will energize the entire board
Angel of Sanctions - Destroy target Creature, then Embalm for additional "Screw you, Greg"
Archangel Avacyn - Permanent Prevent Damage/Reach for your first slot
Emrakul, the Promised End - ಠ_ಠ
Decimator of the Provinces - see above
Drowner of Hope - see Decimator of the Provinces
Harbinger of the Tides - bounce bounce bounce bounce
Startled Awake - see Drowner of Hope
Sundering Titan - see Startled Awake (okay, granted - this one is a MP)
Volcanic Ramber (Sarkhan/Bolas) - cascade ahoy

If you can get reach/defender on Desolation Twins token, you can summon it (a 10/10) every turn. That'd be fun.

When Vraska's available you can pump Undergrowth Champion with this. Or use Conclave Naturalists to destroy a support every turn.

but yeah I agree, the card is worthless and totally not fun to play in combination with any supports, especially not colorless rare ones. Thanks for nothing, Oktagon!

Brilliant. Also, it really helps to fill your hand up when you have creatures with Emerge.

shoot you're right.  Would have to be someone who started playing then, got the card, quit, but recently came back.

Sometimes I forget how long I've been playing this game :D

I've been running it with Lily III in a silly devoid/injest/process build since a little after Christmas.I got it.
The other day, just for fun, I swapped out a BFZ critter for Bontu thinking that I could make her attack every turn.  I found that, while my Eldrazi Scions grew and grew, Bontu never died in 2nd slot.  So there's a neat quirk, it doesn't kill the 2nd critter, just deals massive (prevented) damage  B)

SDR destroys the "last creature" not the second creature unless that creature is the last creature. Token generators are perfect for SDR to help maintain an additional creature beyond the first

Ah yes, in every scenario I've seen with this I had a beefy scion in the 1st position and Bontu in the 2nd, the 3rd position was empty.
