Leave to chance, confirmation dialogue?

The request is simple actually, can we have a confirmation dialogue for the leave part of leave to chance? The timing for a card like that is important and the choice not to use it when full would make all the difference.

please?

If you're worried about triggering the card at the wrong time, you can always temporarily disable it in your hand, until you wish to use it, by clicking on its icon above the Mana indicator

@Brigby I'll step in - normally you are right, but you have no chance for that when casted directly after draw (for example after activate farm)

Hmm in those scenarios then, I'd imagine all cards would want a confirmation dialogue, if they gained enough mana immediately after being drawn?

Yeah like I sometimes hate casting Lost Legacy by mistake before Ob ult is out as that doesn’t have a confirmation button also I think creatures should have confirmation if e.g. a Gideon’ Defeat or a Insidious Will was out you don’t to cast your creature by mistake

Waiting for the old timers to tell us why this is a terrible idea.  “Back in ‘16 we had to spell out the name of the card on an old Samsung phone.  And if you spelled it wrong the game crashed.  Kids these days, they want the game to play itself!”

There are a few that definitely should have it...
One of the most annoying for me (and I can't decide if it should have it for convenience purposes) is Desert of the Mindful.

If you have played New Perspectives and made your 'move' ... It's going to cast whether you want it to or not.  (Not sure if I want to be annoyed with a bunch of ... are you sure? messages either)

Pull from Tomorrow is the same way...  even worse when it goes off and sends the card you need to the graveyard...

Giving a dialog to decide may be too powerful as well...

I've always been on the fence on this.

An example of one that NEEDS it is Cast Out... (yes, I realize this is a support and not a spell)
I may be crazy but I could swear this one had no message, then had it, then lost it again?

Just to throw a contrary opinion out.  I'm ambivalent.

If you're comboing off, shouldn't there be some potential risk in your combo acting on it's own?  Isn't some potential downside in automatic casting chains a good thing to have in balance?

Cast Out will autocast if there are no possible targets.  Otherwise it will ask, even if the target is your own creature.

Cast Out and Trial of Ambition should be dealt with the same but they aren't.

There are _weird_ things with some spells and, yes, a few more should ask for confirmation and I agree Leave is one. (Leave, Market and Avaricious Dragon, you don't _know_ what you will end up casting!)

But there are things with the opposite problem too, like the Oketra spell that buffs all creatures but extra to Zombies, you should be able to cast it without a Zombie cause it can still help!

    @Brigby

In my opinion all spells should have a confirmation, but in the interest of keeping the game fast paced i'd'select atleast the spells with drawbacks to the caster.

desert of glory and the other spells that self damage. Wrath of god  and other board clears too.
and cards like behold the beyond.

unless risking casting the spell by accident is part of the design i think spells like that shouldnt auto cast.

I don’t mind the way it is now, but I wish it was more consistent.  I don’t understand why Fateful Showdown will autocast sometimes even when there is a target for instance.

One more odd one is Lightning Javelin.  It will ask for confirmation / target selection if your opponent has a creature out, but if they do not it will autocast and target the opponent directly.

How about Bontu's Last Reckoning, which does have a confirmation dialog, but still triggers regardless of what you choose to do?

Granted, I'm sure it's a bug but it makes the card unusable. :|

    Hear Hear!

If we're pointing out parts of the game that could be improved, I'd also throw out the request of a 2nd main phase after combat, that might be a bit harder to implement, but I thought it would be at least worth considering as it is part of the normal mtg game ;)

Personally i find the fact that most spells will auto-cast to be a feature and a challenge.  Want to run new P + Deserts?  You have to plan around the fact that your incredibly powerful desert + NP free mana combo might not work correctly every time.

One of the greatest stimulators of creativity are limitations.  Take away the limitations, making it easy to get the perfect result every time?  Booooring.

Itz about cards that have unintended effects, not about cards that may cast when you have a 3 spells or less objective.

Behold the Beyond should really have a confirmation dialog, especially since Day's Undoing does. Pretty annoying to toss your whole hand when you get an unexpected cascade.
