iOS R141 severe battery drain when in background

I've been waiting to post this cause I wasn't sure so I kept watching it, but at this point it seems pretty clear.

Hardware: iPhone 6+
OS: iOS 11.1

When I upgraded to iOS 11 my battery life got pretty poor, not unexpected for 2 revs back.  However since R141 it's gotten 30% worse.  In my own testing it seems like if the game in the background (not force quit) then it's now sucking up huge amounts of battery while the phone is on but locked and face down.  I've seen it take 40% battery in 2 hours in this state.

Is anyone else experiencing this?
