    April 8, 2014, so 5 months after the game came out for Windows.  You're lucky they've supported it up until now.  

    I don't blame you I held out on XP for a long time.  Windows 8 seems awful but 7 isn't so bad if you have the means to get it.  Windows 7 support has been exetend to January 2020 so that's have another 2 years before it's totally dead.
