Better Spam Control on Forums

Here's a great article with some great tips for cutting back on the spam posts. None of them are too hard to implement and none of them would be too restrictive to new users. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we're pretty sick of all the spam.

Also normally you need some amount of posts or reputation before you can open a topic. 5 reputation points for a new topic would make it considerably harder to start spam. If upvoting also would require a few points of rep it would challenge even dedicated human spammers, especially if cleanup would kill the whole chain of upvoters.

Requiring a post be made before you can PM someone adds to the spam honestly, forcing ppl to post non additive posts just so they can PM an alliance.
